Re: Hartlepool Thread
Agreed about the great goal from Josh. Difficult conditions on a windy night. We played the football, Hartlepool concentrated on hoofball which did put us under great pressure the longer the game went on. Rob Atkinson and Lloyd Jones were again superb, and as always Luke Joyce was just about everywhere. Yet again the officials were totally inept and allowed stupid situations to develop.
I regret to say that Sean Maguire made little contribution to the game. He seems to be very adept at ensuring he is close to his marker if there is a chance that someone will pass the ball to him. |
Re: Hartlepool Thread
How that ref is a football league official is beyond me! as the 40 reds will confirm that every time the crowd roared for a free kick he suddenly blew his whistle and tried to let hartlepool get the game going as soon as possible! Liner didnt have a clue either! You reall couldnt make it up! The best one was Maguire and their 6ft odd defender both jumping for a ball and he goes down like a bag of bricks , ref plays on, heres the shouts and runs over a gives a free kick!
This season is the only season really ive noticed how poor the officials have been! Hartlepool deserve to go down as they are an abysmal team and the tactics in the second half to ruffle the feathers of stanley and to dive and cheat anyway possible isnt good to watch! BUT if we was down there i would do anything for points! Thought we played well first half but the inexperience in the second half under the pressure showed , we couldnt keep the ball and looked like we would crumble! Nice point though to clinch another season in the football league! Thought Piero once again played well and so did Joycey, Atkinson, Windass and Winnard when we came on! Maguire and Bruna and the young Jones who they were obviously was trying to get sent off and kept biting! |
