Re: Nicky Hunt
"Face didnt fit" ahhh, Have you any proof that this is the case Smudgie or just the fact that you're Coleys biggest fan so want to slate him at every given chance?
I heard Luke Joyce signed for Carlisle on not much more money than Coley offered! Not sure how much Nicky Hunt was on but will have been one of the higher earners, with a few injuries and wrong side of 30 it wasn't a surprise he didn't sign, Certainly think we can get same quality of player if not better for less money! Lloyd Jones, Anthony Barry and a decent loan keeper and I think were in for a good season! |

Good job those youngsters Aldred and Edwards scarpered then isn't it. We could sign Messi and folk would still moan. With our budget keeping Windass and Mingoia is superb and Kee is a coup given his pedigree at this level. Exciting times at the Crown. Just a goalkeeper and Lloyd Jones now please!!! :hothothot |
Re: Nicky Hunt
Our normal wage budget is roughly £500,000. Beattie was given £670,000 for a promotion challenge. Unless he was trousering the difference I'd suggest that's proof enough wages were significantly higher under his regime as our squad size didn't increase dramatically. Nothing wrong with that at all but anybody who thinks the likes of Odejayi, Hunt and Naylor played for peanuts has lost it.
Here's Peter talking about the 670k. Stanley could slide without more help (From This Is Lancashire) |

Re: Nicky Hunt
A three year deal? That's a pretty significant message from Stanley saying they wanted him to stay, JC is rarely involved in a players contract of over 12 months, think all the rest of the signings this summer have been for just a year

Re: Nicky Hunt
That's what baldy said... From his interview at carlisle it seems we could have offered something pretty decent, it's just Luke was pretty determined to go back to carlisle..... facilities, unfinished business etc

Re: Nicky Hunt
We offered him a 3 year deal, Carlisle offered him 2 years with an option for a 3rd!
