But that title 'Supporter Liaison Officer must place the onus squarely on his shoulders having read all of the evidence presented in this thread !..
I look forward to him championing the cause of the Pieless and Sausageless immediately if he really takes his position seriously !

I don't think there's an issue in the Sausage department, in fact, far from it! There's sossys in abundance & the size of 'em fair turns your head. :D

Why not grasp the nettle and pass the thoughts of the fans along face to face to these individuals who are providing little service and poor quality ?....
EMails do have their use, but where some strong words are needed they fall short in so many ways!.
If it is within your remit to take these second rate vendors to task, then a real effort on your part would be recognised by those so sorely offended by this situation as the act of a real Fan's Champion !.

Dave, not being an afficionado of Sausages of any size, shape or flavour, I keep them and whatever appeal they might hold at a discreet arms length !.
However, I can see that they might well play an important part in other people's life, and am pleased to hear that there is an abundance of these delicacies at The Wham' !.

But isn't it good news that The Fans Liaison Officer is now taking an interest in the crusade to provide better service and refreshments for the forgotten fans ?.

Dave !...as I have previously noted, it doesn't take much to have me, in my dotage, totally confused !...and as usual you have managed to achieve this, although I'll join you in a yoddel-de-ho- Ho, which sounds vaguely musical to me !.
Taking a more serious tack though, I have no idea who the one purporting to be the Fans Liaison Officer is, but to have achieved this position he or she must have impressed the powers that be that they possess the mettle needed to face up to the challenge of any fan-related problem, and so I look forward to a ditching of EMails as a solution to the one in question, replacing them with a robust and firm criticism of the sad efforts of those providing this Season's Ground-based refreshments.
Perhaps we will see results on Saturday ?....I'll be watching !.

Have I got it right? You want someone to email you telling you to read this thread so that you can pass the email on to someone who hasn't?

I don't understand what's so difficult about sending the club an email?
If the club received an email, I imagine they could treat it like a proper complaint, as well as have it on hand and discuss with the caterers.
The alternative is either printing out every page of this thread or attempting to remember individuals members posts from an unofficial forum?
People want change but keep expecting the club to come looking for problems?

I'm not saying that they don't read it.
I'm saying that if they took everything on here as a genuine complaint and actioned every one of them:
Beattie would be chairman, Crooksy would never have been re-signed, the club would have been renamed Mitre United in pink and claret, and Bovril would be running out of the taps...

Just as it shows a modicum of naivety to think that those managing the Club are not already aware of the substandard services which they are allowing to function in the ground on Match days ?.
Hopefully, the Fan's Liaison Officer who has shown some interest in this parlous state of affairs, will give it full attention and redress the situation to everyone's satisfaction !.

Right E-mails are sensible and supportive? somehow i dont think so Sherry, WHY do i and probably every season ticket holder, get e-mails regular from the club telling me to get down to the ground for the next home match? What does it matter by what medium we express our concerns regarding the terrible catering facilities at the Wham Stadium this season. What strikes me is that this so called "Fans Liaison Officer" is well aware of the issue as he's obviously been reading the thread, but instead of living up to his "Grand" important sounding title, his first reaction is to make sure correct procedures are being followed. Sounds to me like he's more biased towards the club than the fans.

Thank you !,I think that we are all aware of this fact and I rely on them to give daily support in every area of my work !...BUT as the Managers of the Club really must be fully aware of the situation currently under discussion then an E Mail communication with them would seem to be superfluous and irrelevant at this time !.
What is needed is direct action from the Fans Liaison Officer and any spare Manager to do the rounds of the FF Outlets tomorrow afternoon and ensure that the quantity and quality of the comestables on sale are of an acceptable standard !, and of more importance, that the Fans are happy and satisfied with these provisions.
JC is often declaring that the Fans are of paramount importance to the Club !. So would this action not echo his sentiments precisely ?..

What % of people in this day in age don't have access to an email account? If not why not phone the club or even put a letter in snail mail to the club?

Failing that go and see somebody at the club, Always somebody to talk to!

By the time its taken to make 9 pages in this thread the people who aren't happy could have emailed, phoned or spoke to someone face to face at the club but what would be the fun in that when you can just moan on an unofficial forum?

Re: Who ate all the pies?

This seems to be rumbling on for a while and, whilst I can see that an emailed complaint is more official, I think we are missing the point. We are grumbling about the standard of catering at Accy but, no matter how bad it is, we will more than likely be back because we are Stanley fans. Rightly or wrongly we have put up with no roof, poor toilet facilities, poor catering and on accaison no beer but the club means more to us tahn all that.

The problem we have here is we are trying to attract new fans and neutrals/fans of other clubs on a day trip. at the end of the day even good football may not be enough to get them to come back because at the end of the day it is good league 2 football not the Premiership, Championship, Bundisliga, la Liga, Serie A or any of the other big leagues on TV. Facilities do matter to people and businesses and if the facilities are sub standard most people don't fire off an email they just don't come back.

Personally I'm not too bothered as I only get something to eat inside if I've been on the bevvy and a bucket of ale can make anything taste not too bad. Likewise the cost can be expensive but I hand over a fiver or tenner and pocket the change so I've no idea how much it was last time at the Wham. If I don't have a fiver or tenner I don't bother or just pull out a handfull of pound coins which I seem to accumulate - probably because I keep using a fiver or tenner and pocketing the change :D.

Perhaps rather than argue about whether we need to email or post on an unofficial forum the club should try the catering before the game and at half time and report back. It's not rocket science however if the club get paid regardless of how much or little is sold and what is sold would they want to rock the boat because at the end of the day they need the money and doing it themselves probably isn't an option regarding infrastructure and potential losses in winter.

Anyway despite the catering I'll be back tomorrow!!! :D

Why does anyone have to email the club when none other than the "Supporter Liaison Officer" at the club has given up some of his precious time to read this thread and submit two posts (#97 & #106) offering his advice on a suitable conclusion to this issue. I take his involvement in this "unofficial forum" thread as acknowledgement that the club are NOW involved. I rest my case!

To be honest Red-O; my mate thoroughly enjoyed himself at the game on Tuesday night. He thought the quality of the football was far better than he anticipated. Regarding the time it took to purchase a lukewarm pie, he did see the humorous side of the situation having been pre-warned even before he entered the Wham. He commented on the comparison between the catering facilities at his ground and what's on offer at Stanley.
He offered his sympathy to the cause!
I'm sure he's looking forward to his next game at the Stanley sometime in the future but will be making his own arrangements as per half time refreshment if this issue hasn't been resolved.

Thanks for this post. The Music of the Mountains always amazes and pleases my ear !.
Not the sort of compositions which my Choirs could cope with I'm afraid !....aren't you lucky though to have such delights on your doorstep !.

Whilst all on the pie front seems to have been resolved given that there aren't any further complaints forthcoming, i feel I must bring up the delicate subject of no chips being available at the main stand refreshments van, apparently anyone enquiring about the availability of said fried delicacies was being directed to the Clayton end if they couldn't make do with a hot dog, pie or burger - who'd be a fast food vendor these days eh??

Must bring up the no chocolate bars, asked before the game had even kicked off and they said they had none, also noticed the baps we're getting stored on the floor at the side of the van

Service = 8/10 .......Pleasant...Mr Grumpy was absent!:)

is our catering any better or worse than other clubs in our division and what do others charge. don't go to many away games due to us being in league division 2 south. but it would be interesting to compare. if ours is worse could the supporters club get involved as a group has more clout than an individual.

Well done Choirboy on your survey, a very clear scoring system.
Negative comments still being expressed so by the look of things the situation continues.
Following Tuesday night's fiasco I gave the Clayton end van a wide birth. I did notice however that the van had been relocated and possibly it was a different vendor (not Mr Grumpy). Perhaps someone can clarify.
I think the supporters club are well aware of the situation and agree with monkey hanger that they could use a bit of clout, particularly since we haven't heard another peep from
the Supporter Liaison Officer.

If it's true that people were being asked to pay £2.50 for a coffee at Stanley then that seems a right royal rip off.
I visit a few southern softie grounds and the fare is variable. But what is a fact is that I remember the places that offer better fare or service. Places like Dagenham are reasonably priced, as I recall, Brizzle Rovers have the best pasty anywhere, the sausage rolls at Crawley were monstrous, and Wimbledon and Wycombe offer good value.
For somewhere with a ground that is barely Conference standard to charge £2.50 for a cup of hot water and a few grains of instant coffee-like substitute is beyond a joke.
The answer is simple, just don't pay it.

Try looking on the football ground guide website in what,s it like for visiting supporters section and usually there is a brief article on the catering, excellent website I always check this site when travelling to an away game, I had a pie at Morecambe in the seated area and it was lacking in food in the middle cost about £5.60 with a cider to wash it down.

There is only one thing to say about your £5.60 for a pie and a drink you've more money than sense, and even worse you did it at a football match, you could save all that hassle, just throw you money down a grate.

I've visited the ground guide website Andy but it's difficult to establish when these comments were made and last updated. Things can change drastically from season to season as has been spectacularly demonstrated at the Wham!

To be absolutely fair, I did have a short conversation with that FLO prior to the match, who having assured me that the Club are monitoring the situation closely, and have had assurances that at the least there will be an adequate supply of Pies at the outlets, even at the cost of throwing away those surplus to requirements ( Which seems a shame in these days of Food Banks and such ?), seemed to have a grip on the problem !.
Then Accymad, with a rather sad countenance, reported to me the startling fact that NO Chips were to be had from the outlet behind the Main Stand !. I offered to negotiate with the Steward guarding the Clayton End to see if he might purchase a few from their Van and pass them along to the Chipless standing around, but this offer was, as often happens to me where young ladies are concerned, treated as a bit of trivial banter on my part !...but I'm glad to see that AM has not let this absense of fried Potatoes go unreported !...
So folks, the Club is,I am assured, on to it, and things should improve !...Incidentally, Oxford were better than us !.

I have to say, the stink from pies, etc make me nearly throw up when eaten nearby on the Clayton End, but that's probably due to my medication, as it never used to be a problem. I give my gold medal, incidentally, to the Balti pie supplied at Elland Road when we played Leeds in a cup match a few years ago. Now that really was something to salivate about, thinking about it now.

I'll never forget an incident way back when, we were in the NW Counties first division. At that time as some on here will remember, we could walk round to the opposite end of the ground at half time. There was a guy who attended regularly, he was quite a big lad, wore glasses and always had a Burbury flat cap on, I never knew his name. Anyway, he got escorted/kicked out of the ground from the Coppice end for chucking a pie at the opposition goalkeeper. Can anyone remember the incident? From that day on we Christened him "The Pieman"

Indeed my mates used to join us on Monday nights to watch Blackburn reserves just to sample "pie all in".

'Amber Spice'...sounds like one of Lynx's Deodorant Sprays !!....
Whatever you do Mike do not trust any snack which purports to have it's origins in Eastern climes !...
I still waken up in the early hours in a cold sweat having had nightmares about the Chicken Balti Pies purchased at The Kassam Stadium and last season at Luton !!.
It is Redraine these memories of the lamentable efforts of the Baking staff at Pukka Pies which stimulated me to reply with an 'ugh' to your advice regarding purchasing one or more of the objects of mystery produced in their kitchens !!.
Mike!, having fears for your well-being, I repeat my impassioned plea.....leave the Oriental Pies to the fans at Oxford, Luton, and Barnet ....they deserve them !.

Re: Who ate all the pies?

Heard a Cambridge Utd fan on Radio 5 today discussing this topic who said that the best pies he'd ever had at a football ground were at Kidderminster Harriers.
Amazing, but I came away from my one trip to their ground (it was Stanley's very last game in the Conference, so 10.5 years ago) thinking the same thing. I recall all the food on offer was way above anything I'd ever seen at any ground, anywhere.
It wasn't cheap, but then if price is the only test of whether food is good or bad, there is little hope for human health.
Having said that, having fantastic pies doesn't seem to correlate with a successful team. In the Conference at least, that seems to depend on being vegetarian!

Kiddy's pies are sensational. The expense story on the BBC is misleading. Yes they are 50p to a £1 more than most other clubs but instead of hot air and meat scraps you get a meal in a tray!!
