IMHO I thought Sean McConville was outstanding yesterday tackled back rode some nasty tackles which the ref left unpunished and put some lovely crosses into the box oh for a big striker to be on the end of them could have scored at the death to and deservedly is in football league papers team of the week for league 2 well done Sean.

I personally think Sean's been outstanding this season for his all round contribution. He's just missing a bit of final third gloss to be the icing on the cake

Revived Red - keep the faith with Beckles. He's class.

Maybe. Like I said, at the moment, I am not convinced. At the moment, I would rate Phil Edwards, Tom Aldred, Deano, and even Tom Davies ahead of him. Just my opinion.

I reckon centre half Beckles will bring us the biggest return, no question at all to me,all those yeh name Revived were certainly very good players, For me the best defender of those was Deano, he would have played at a higher level, but his distribution wasn't the best. just my opinion.

Re: Portsmouth for part-timers

All different types of defenders, for me it has a lot to do who plays alongside them as well .
Who's the best Vidic or Ferdinand?,great combination of strength and pace.
Also playing surfaces have a big say.
Watched Beckles and he's done well considering his lack of league experience.
He's not a novice (nearly 25),but I am confident Coley will mould him into a very effective player,no worries about that.
Interesting that he's had two clean sheets without Hughes alongside him ?,he may revell in the extra responsibility!!!

spot on cashy i,m glad someone else has the same opinion on deano as i,ve always had. would be in the championship if he could pick out a pass. same may be said for beckles also but the key for me is that both are defenders first and foremost. hate to see the fancy dan defender who thinks he,s a mid field general and messes around with the ball and then gets caught out usually resulting in a goal against. rather see the ball over the stand roof than that anyday.

I maybe wrong monkey hanger but I am sure Beckles early days was in midfield, and his composure suggests this .
Coley will soon have him playing his way !!!

Did anyone hear Granada Reports' Lucy Meacock a few minutes ago? They were talking about a piece they're doing on tomorrow's programme - she said 'walking football - don't Portsmouth do that all the time' - nice one Lucy, secret Stanley fan maybe?? :)
