Matches to be played on 5 November. As well as the 24 Conference teams, there are a number of our former foes still in Saturday's 4th Qualifying Round matches:
The website for the English football association, The FA Cup and The England football team - The Emirates FA Cup | The FA

Westfields away would suit me!

That's Clive Wallwork (Not sure 100% about his surname) in the video. He has the barber's shop on Abbey Street.

Yes the same with us. We went in the "family stand" thinking we'd be safe but blokes in there 30's and 40's(we were 16/17 year olds) gave us hell! One nutter even got on our coach after the game brandishing a knife. We'd had enough by now so he was quickly disarmed and shown the emergency exit...while the coach was moving!:D

Fortunately, Class of 92 FC already out of the FA Cup - all that hype around their 'fairy story' last season was sickening

don't know why but when I saw the thread title the immediate thought was Forrest Green at home. If I'm right, guess I need to fear the ducking stool. On t'other hand, Chimer will tell you that this season I can't forecast what day it is !
On the Millwall issue, I have heard tales in the past of their ThugsRus brigade that search out opposition fans pre and post match. Hopefully that's in the past otherwise you may well be talking pub brawl - not crawl.

We've made the 1st round proper for 11 consecutive years. What a record!! ;)

A plethora of mouth watering ties available here. A new non league ground would be preferable for me. Failing that a League 1 behemoth away such as Bolton, Charlton or Sheffield.

Not that it matters. We'll get Tranmere for the 1700th time since returning to the league.

Well on the basis that you will hardly ever predict these things, I will confidently go with Chimer and say Daggers away, on the basis that it is indeed a horrible day out with virtually no redeeming features, other than good transport links at Barking to get the hell out of there. And I can indeed confirm that Chris struggles to find his way out of Dagenham :)

I think the law of probabilities makes it a very good draw.
The chances of getting to round 3 are 1/4. Therefore take the biggish game now. There's still a chance of progressing.

Lord D,
Lady Cicely & I both benefit from Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway discount cards reserved for the aristocracy & certain shareholders. Perhaps you would care to join us in our private Pullman car. However, you & Lady D must bring your own butler as we had to let our railway carriage staff go due to outstanding tax demands at Rusting Manor.
Yours truly,

Following Lord Stiffupperlip's lurkdom on the Blackpool forum I headed straight for "Bantam Banter" (or whatever amusing name their forum is) after the draw was made but found it was only for those who could choose their fave Bradford player and what year they won the Cup.

Clearly a bit of subterfuge was required, so I went for David Weatherall and 1911, and I duly slipped in the side door unnoticed.

It's the "go to" place for Milk puns I can tell you that. I don't think they have left any dairy related terms unused in their hours of side splitting amusement since the draw was made.

Anyway, they seem quite pleased with the draw - mainly a chance for revenge.

Re: Fa cup 1st rd draw

Yorkshire? Illiterate? Tight?

When my parents took the disastrous decision to cart me away from the paradise that is Accrington that meant living about 4 miles from Bradford City centre for a decade.

Educated and influenced by Yorkshire people I was. I easily learnt their ways - how to be stingy and mean and how to be stubborn and opinionated. Somehow, I learnt to read and write - not sure how as the book we had to study for English O'Level was Kes (Kestrel for a Knave) which is just a couple hundred pages of Barnsley slang.

My sporting education started in Bradford too. To prepare me for going to watch Super Leeds I was taken to Valley Parade for a few months to endure some dour kick and rush rubbish. When I reached the point where I could take no more, the wonders of Elland Road were mine.

Whilst I never felt compelled to return I do have some fondness for Bradford .... not least because one saturday I was playing golf on the hills overlooking the city when those infamous and horrible plumes of smoke started to rise into the air.

So, whilst they are an odd lot across there, whilst Valley Parade almost put me off the beautiful game. I really can't wait for this match.

Lord Stiffupperlip 18-10-2016 15:40

Re: Fa cup 1st rd draw

I think your parents must have taken you to Yorkshire on purpose to see whether you would sink, or swim.
It must have worked because you overcame hardship to take the Lordship of Didsbury!

sounds like i was brought up a bit like yourself being dragged down to yorkshire from the north east. my mother hated it, but it was worse for me as my education was halifax town at cold comfort farm in the late 50.s where their fans enjoyed their side giving the opposition a good kicking, i wonder if our mate westley had a yorkshire upbringing.

Stanley may take 400 and Bradford 5 to 7k. I'm not sure what your definition of a biggish gate is? Bradford had 3 FA Cup home games last season and all were below 6.5k. I guess they have well over 10k season ticket holders and they are very keenly priced, however they don't want to pay any more for the cup, plus stanley are not a draw.

£15 admission, not bad at all seeing it's usually £25 - think I'll take the trip to this one

When do they go on sale is the question?

Saw something on the Fishy site today, but only about prices.
Guess it depends when Bradford get the tickets printed.

Bradford have them on sale from today so I presume it's just a matter of when they get ours to us, could even be pay on the day as I doubt we'll fill their away end?

£15 on coach for members of OSC, £18 for non-members?? Bit steep for the distance, train's looking good :)

Quite a treck from city centre station to Valley Parade, you'll need a taxi.

Yeah, I've checked on football ground guide which reckons it's about 20 to 30 minute walk but with the coach going at 11 there's gonna be a lot of walking round to do to kill time up to kick off anyway & there's the option of getting a bus from interchange if weathers' not good.
It's more the trek back to the train station in the dark that's bothering me - still exploring my options :)

Accymad - it won't be a walk back to the station, it will be a raucous celebratory sing song.

Gentlemen,
According to local bus information, there are several routes serving Bradford Interchange station with the Coral Windows Stadium, which is only 1.1 mile away. The bus takes only 3 minutes + a 5 minute walk. Can't imagine a taxi will cost much, especially if shared.
Services 626, 662 & 737 go past the ground but full details are shown on the official Bradford FC visitors guide - see my earlier thread.

walking time is about right but a lot of it is uphill. the 662 keighley bus is every 10 mins. from the top of the interchange. imagine the coach will get to bradford before 1 o,clock and a couple of hours in bradford is more than enough. if anyone wants to eat try the oastler centre karen at woodies. decent cheap meals and she,s got a soft spot for stanley although she supports l...s. beiong a non drinker can,t give you any info about pubs but i,d watch myself as some look a bit grotty.

Cheers MH, might be uphill on the way to the ground but at least it'll be downhill going back :) - got mixed up about it being dark going back as was thinking clocks would've changed but as that doesn't happen till Saturday night it should be ok
Coach will get there around 12 & for me, that's a tad too long to wander round or spend the time in the pub
