Re: Orient match thread
Is 5-0 are biggest league victory margin since we returned to the football league in 2006? Last night was brilliant. So pleased for Sean mcconville after the stick he has had in the past. He has been better this season, his set piece Delivery is now worth his place in the team alone.

Isn't football brilliant?
There's so much I disagree with Lord Love Rocket's player assessment. How fans can have such differing views on practically everything is a wonder to behold. |

'Friends, Romans, Stanleyfans! I come to praise McConville, not to bury him' Without doubt our most improved player of late. Some of his touches last night were Messi'esque and the two goals simply superb. The chants of 'Shoot' every time he got the ball, even in our own half, were worth the admission price alone. Laugh? I nearly wet myself! |

Re: Orient match thread
What a great game it was,and Orient played their part for twenty minutes.
Hunty going off was a blow to them, but it was only time before our tempo paid off. On a tricky surface, some of our passing and movement was top drawer and Pearson seems to set the tempo. Pressing, heading, overlapping, tackles, passing and scoring goals,he really is turning into a beast of a player. He's a perfect foil for Sean, and both read each other's decision making. Play offs ??, possibly as we look solid as well |

Re: Orient match thread
Has anyone heard any news about the Orient bucket collection on Tuesday night?
There doesn't appear to be any confirmation on their forum. Would be nice to know what, if anything, they managed to raise? |
Re: Orient match thread
Lord Stiff - there are more questions than answers.
I've been wondering what Bumble's birthday buns were like and whether anyone was braver than I and stepped forward and grabbed one? |

Didn't see anyone collecting outside the Clayton end & had to pass my donation to our Stanley/Orient fan in the Crown after the game. Hope he didn't spend it on beer!!!!! |
Re: Orient match thread
I didn't see any buckets either.
Here's the more modern, newfangled way though - https://www.gofundme.com/saveorient |

Rob; that was the issue when they turned up without a plan at 4-30pm the day before to ask if they could collect. ASFC sorted the buckets and made the suggestions as where to position themselves As others have said they need to get go in big numbers to the London's PL stadiums with sufficient notice, right H&S and good publicity. Then they might raise a decent amount |
Re: Orient match thread
As to Collectors, I spotted a rather dejected looking pair situated at the Main Stand Turnstiles, perhaps their downcast demeanour was due to the fact that they were being completely ignored by most of the folks entering the ground at that time !.
I did my bit which seemed to cheer them a little ...the young lady whilst assuring me that she was a fan of Leyton Orient had a most charming East Lancashire accent and planted a tiny and gentle kiss on my cheek, which I foolishly supposed at the moment to be part of the deal !.... But I do hope that the money collected does in some way go to alleviating the fiscal nightmare which the famous old club is experiencing !, and which was perhaps more than a little noticeable on the field as I caught a glimpse of the pained faces of their Manager and his players as they left the pitch. Demotivation personified ?. |

From the Guardian: 12:49pm
Thanks for following our live updates from Orient's winding-up petition at the High Court. The outcome is as follows: The club have until June 12th to pay outstanding debtors which is estimated to be around £60,000. Andrew Shaw who respresented the club said Mr Becchetti will hopefully raise a cash injection of £1million pounds into the club in eight to 10 weeks. However Adam Michaelson believes there are more creditors to come and HMRC could issue another petition tomorrow. |
