ASFC terminate the contract of midfielder Paddy Lacey. He's been banned for 14 months by the FA after failing a drugs test

Re: Paddy Lacey

The 24-year-old tested positive for a prohibited substance after the game at Hartlepool United in November 2016.

The FA only published their statement today: http://www.thefa.com/news/2017/may/05/patrick-lacey-suspended-050517

Why would Accy say anything official before the governing body did?

As Captain Mainwaring would say 'Stupid boy'!! Having been given a chance that many others would give their right arm for he goes & most royally screws it up - good riddance!

Re: Paddy Lacey

A decent players that's screwed up his future, still suspended less than joey Barton, would think drugs is worse than gambling

Too right but pleased to see the club kicking him out straight away however since he hasn't played since then I think they knew. On a positive (not drug test!) frees up wages for next year

Of course they knew ! In fact it was one of those worst kept secrets.
Lemur and a few others were all over this story in early February.

Re: Paddy Lacey

Nobody's saying the club didn't know, obviously they did & that's why he was suspended right away but they were probably unable to say anything until the whole process had been completed

Well so far the sun newspaper has used pictures of Sean Mc and Jordan Clark, can't we just ban the sun like Everton and Liverpool, Chester and tranmere have
