Anyone going to Morecambe?

Game has been switched to the Lancs FA ground at Leyland where we played Preston last night - something about concerns in regards to Morecambe's pitch

Re: Anyone going to Morecambe?

Surely at "sensible" switch ??

Nearer for people to travel, no segregation, food and drink for all ??

Better than plan Z; behind closed doors at ?????

Re: Anyone going to Morecambe?

Might be a sensible switch but still a late one - was just trying to spread the word

Di;

No gripe with you for spreading the word; just amazed that people are unhappy as the beer in Morecambe is "much superior" than in Leyland ?:confused:

I now know I'm "old";)

I'm amazed that you're amazed that people are disappointed, you know any Stanley fan worth their salt loves a day out in Morecambe & seeing as we're now not playing them in the league a lot of people have been looking forward to it since it was announced in May

Morecambe aint even announced this on their site. thought it was us that was tin-pot?:D

If you plan a day out around two drinking sessions in Lancaster and then end up in Leyland of course you are going to be disappointed.

It would have made sense to have the OM game in Leyland though as it is closer to transport links and an actual town.

Completely agree with AccyMad, it has very little to do with the football, and also been looking forward to it since May. If they had moved it to Lancaster then great, but the county ground is soulless and Leyland aint great for daytime drinking.

seems to be a modern football thing where away grounds and opposition come behind the cost of ale at grounds and what local pubs are like. even when i did drink it was well down my list of priorities.

shame for those making a day/weekend out of it.
booked train and hotels already.
RE comments about drinking 'culture' - I for one prefer to enjoy a day out on an away day rather than turning up at 2.30pm, leaving by 5pm.

interesting that no segregation - hoping that's not ruined by idiots.

Josh;

I noticed you were at the LFA on Tuesday night;

Highest gate at Leyland in the last 7 years with no segregation.

I would think that any "idiots" Morecambe have remain at home as they are too young to drive!!

I'm sure the town of Leyland will welcome some additional day trippers

Has anyone heard anything about what time the osc coaches are setting off now, I'm presuming they might be leaving a little later now? Asking for my Mum as she hasn't got access to the internet
