Re: Next season??

We're (EFL and clubs) hoping to have it in for start of next season, with a "soft" one year exemption for existing (not new deals)

Ie a club has numerous players in year one of a 3 year deal or suffers relegation and needs a year to adjust.

The "saga" in L1 has slowed the debate and work down on this project.

Re: Next season??

Ah rite Mark thanks for that

I was under the impression that the transition season to allow for existing contracts would be 21/22 and not next season but I agree if they can get it in place for the start of next season it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Re: Next season??

Its not going to affect our club anyway.
We will be well within salary cap as we would be even in a good year.

Out of Contract - Evtimov, Clark, Zanzala, ZFA, Sousa, Conneely, Watson, Rodgers.

Un-sure about youth players but imagine apart from ones above,
all expire this summer.

Perritt, Williams, Bolton, Martin, O’Neill, Gilboy.

So, of the out of contract players - and again, it is if the price is right and the player wants it - Rodgers and Conneely would both be worth a punt, everyone has their own opinion about Conneely, but he is worth an offer and at the right price, Rodgers is worth a gamble, we all know what he can be and maybe a regular place would bring it out of him?? :) :) Could also be tempted to sign Zanzala, but again, price would have to be right and it would not be the first offer I made :)

What about the players where the club has a one year option ?

Re: Next season??

Zanzala would be a definite no for me I'm afraid.

just to try and get back on thread, all depends on the player and ££££, but - if the price was right - i would offer hughes, barclay and maguire :)

one has experience, one has youth and potential and maguire has shown in patches, he can play :)

still thinking about the rest :)

Can't believe you're still leaving Johnson off your list.

Just cut and paste the part up to Bayliss and scroll down. Tranmere's marginal error solution saves them and drags a load into the play offs, it seems daft but could get voted in as a lot could gain from it.

Well when the fixtures come out let's hope the Bolton games don't get scheduled for early on.

Christmas and Easter would look good to me

Re: Next season??

Andy Holt just said he thinks it's the right decision to curtail the season and can now get on with contracts and sorting for when ever next season starts. He adds that he doesn't want to see this behind closed doors as football is for fans and their communities and looks forward to a packed Wham on the return I for one wholeheartedly agree with him.
