Re: 2020/21 Squad

Isherwood, Bolton and Martin promoted to senior squad no Watson presume he,s going out on loan or gone permanently, numbers now 21+4 loanees 25 presumably keeper coming in possibility of loan there as well window open until October so plenty of time if there,s going to be any more to get right ones. A bit young looking upfront but Cassidy could be a find hope he hits the ground running. Few niggling injuries to contend with and of course no hot head Finley for 10 games could prove costly for him looking forward now to Friday evening and our line up and probable new system.

Suposedly it starts at 8 this year and increases to 10 next season and 12 the year after to qualfy to be homegrown basically you have to be eligible to hold a British Passport or have lived in the United Kingdom for more than 3 years.

The PL arent to happy and are soliciting support from the FL by threatening the next tranche of assistance thats due to be announced imminently.

Cant see your mates at UEFA being too happy about it either.

1/ They aren't my mates.

2/ This has nothing to do with Bosman.

This is a residency issue nothing to do with freedom of movement and employment law.

Are we really bothered I ain't I,m sure the club knows the rules roll on Oxford at home, then we can see who will be fighting for their places in the starting 11 midfield will be interesting this season.

If we have a midield 4, then there are 2 place maximum up for grabs.....

And how do you work out that either of those points are relevent.

Football in this country was told to reduce the number of foreigners on work permits it employs either voluntarily or the govmt would do it with legislation.

This is the FA.s response, the FL are quite happy with it. The PL not so and are putting pressure on the FL to support them in fighting it by threatening to withold the next tranche of support money.

Personally i hope they fight it and force the govt to legislate and they go hard and make it no foreign player with less than 10 caps allowed in.

Accept it man we.re taking our country back wether You UEFA or FIFA like it or not. And the sooner the better.

Toby Savin, Liam Isherwood.

Mark Hughes, Joe Maguire, Harvey Rodgers, Ross Sykes, Callum Johnson, Reagan Ogle, Cameron Burgess, Jack Bolton.

Zehn Mohammed, Lamine Sherif, Joe Pritchard, Sam Finley, Seamus Conneely, Sean McConville, Ben Barclay, Harry Perritt, Matt Butcher,Tom Allan, Tom Scully, Dan Martin.

Colby Bishop, Dion Charles. Niall Watson???? Ryan Cassidy.
Please tell me if I have missed anybody :)

17 - possibly 18 - players on the books at the moment and whilst we have a team - nothing against young Savin - we need a keeper minimum.

So, what do we need??
Who plays?
Coley has stated "The Reds had the biggest squad they have ever had last season and Coleman says next season will be different.

“We will be working with a much smaller squad,” said the Stanley boss.
" Does anybody think so??
Coley has also stated he is looking at 2, or 3 more signings (GK/CM/CF) ???

Let the discussions begin :)

So....... back on thread... 25 - 26 players, more midfielders than you can shake a stick at, still think we need a goalkeeper??? :)

Are we in need of anything else???

Colby and Dion are 3/4 of a season further down the line with their development, add to that young Cassidy and Allan and we are not in a bad place :)

Listening to them describing themselves, we also have a couple of attack minded midfielders to complement the attack :)

Add to that what we have already and I do not have any worries :)

If come January, we need the added firepower for the promotion push, I am sure that John and Jimmy will pull something out of the bag :)

Time will tell :)

I think the 3 permanent signings have a bit more pedigree about them compared to last season's, as for the loan signings look good lads but as always with loan players it's about attitude. Hopefully get a goalkeeper before deadline day as that's not till October.

Why do we have to give anything away ?

But youre right its virtually certain to be no deal now which is what they should have just done 3 years ago.

We are Britain we used to rule a third of the world and could do again if Boris plays this right we could destroy the EU as it stands in 5 years the only thing that can stop us are the doom mongers and Wokes.

But back to the subject in hand

I see the WSL and the rest of the womens game have agreed the 8 foreigner limit from next season.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54006894

And you.ll notice that in there theres the reference to what i mmentioned the other day in that the clubs know that Brexit will bring tighter regulations which can only ever be a good thing.

Its looking like maybe theyre maybe taking advantage of this new regulation where if you have a player youre trying to move on or loan out you dont put him in the squad or give him a number and his wages dont count towards your wage cap totals.

See all the huloo at Blackpool where theyve done just that with Jamie Devitt where by doing it they in effect get to increase their wage cap limit by nearly 250k.

Yes i.d be looking at an experienced striker and keeper

Maybe someone could do the age thing excersise as players who havnt reached 21 by the 1st of Jan in the year the season starts ie Jan 1st 2020 i would imagine that would take quite a few out of the limit equation leaving plenty of room to bring a few more in if Coley wants to and the money is available to spend.

Yes he came on against Salford in the second half as did Scully and an unknown big lad at the back also keeper Jason Luietwieler had been training and playing with us happens all the time while their agents do the talking for them.

The big lad at the back who replaced Sykes in second half at Salford looked very assured on the ball another excellent signing 27 now and looking like a goalkeeper coming in Monday, could be a real competition for places this season which hasn't happened for a while put,s pressure on everyone could be a good season ahead.

Re: 2020/21 Squad

The Squad seems to be building nicely but I agree that we need another goalkeeper yet. Some of the new signings look to have great potential but some of them haven’t played that many games in recent seasons....... and I mean before the Lockdown closure stopped all players from participating in matches. However, I am confident that our management team will get them all fully match fit and then we should see more clearly which of them are going to realise their potential. Once again, we have a really interesting few months ahead with some unanswered questions and a relatively new team to develop together and to build a real team ethic which Stanley is well known for. I am fascinated by the prospect of which players will develop into our star players and which ones fall away.....? I am really hopeful that with the balance of ages and physical stature in the squad that we will do well this season.
Just one other point regarding the pitch at The Wham Stadium.....This long ‘close season’, that we have had, is the first for a few years where the pitch has not been resurfaced and reseeded. So the grass should have really consolidated a deeper and more resilient root system. So our team should be able to play our preferred passing game throughout the whole season.
Really looking forward to getting back into the stadium and cheering our team on!

cracking lad, best wishes to him and his family, thoroughly deserved.
came as a boy and left as a man.

who will be next on the conveyor belt of talent we are producing over last few seasons.

Re: 2020/21 Squad

Best of luck Calum came to us as a raw talent from Middlesbrough and left has one of the best full backs at this level and made the club a bit of coin.

Re: 2020/21 Squad

Goalkeeper hopefully in next couple of days on loan 2agreed in principle one English club other outside UK so presumably either Baxter or Hazard both decent.

Is there anyone Bolton are not after? They’ve signed at least 17 this summer and have three strikers already. Maybe they have a long bench?

Sama hasn’t been allocated a Squad Number up to now! I presume that he will likely get the Number 2 shirt now that Callum has left for Pompey?

The terms of their transfer embargo must be pretty fluid

I see Peterborough our first league game opponents have splashed the cash today £ million pounds plus this is what we have to compete with.

Take a look at the accumulative transfer moves League One ...... and the pace is increasing.
I remember quite well how several people said that covid-19 was the death toll for transfers.
No chance.

Re: 2020/21 Squad

Coley talking about maybe 2 more permanent signings coming in maybe down to money coming in or the fact that we are very light body wise upfront.

Re: 2020/21 Squad

Chelsea said to be closing in on the signing of a keeper would pave the way for a loan out for Baxter hopefully to us.

Sadly Lammie got a serious injury in the Bolton game; he'll be missing for awhile:(

Suspect Sam was on a FA Course so he can get back to playing ASAP

just wonder though how many players released at the end of last season are still without clubs. there was always going to be players sold and that money being used for replacements. its some of the lads, who are called journeymen, that worry me somewhat.

Yes it does we are waiting for a loan keeper coming in just depends on parent club bringing one in if it's Chelsea then we will probably get Baxter, but with the current injuries could do with a couple more outfield players with a bit of experience me thinks.

Jason is understudy at Fleetwood.
Would have been a sound number 2 for us.
I am bothered.
What if Savin got injured ?
What if he did a Dimi and got sent off ?

Coley has mentioned that they have 2 loan deals for keepers agreed in principle with a club in the UK and one outside waiting for the said clubs to bring in cover themselves, we therefore presumably ditched the idea of a permanent position for a keeper to preferably cover outfield preferred upfront for me we are light in body's and experience there.

Chelsea keeper target flying in for medical agreement reached between player and both clubs Baxter could be a step nearer.
