Re: 2020/21 Squad
Isherwood, Bolton and Martin promoted to senior squad no Watson presume he,s going out on loan or gone permanently, numbers now 21+4 loanees 25 presumably keeper coming in possibility of loan there as well window open until October so plenty of time if there,s going to be any more to get right ones. A bit young looking upfront but Cassidy could be a find hope he hits the ground running. Few niggling injuries to contend with and of course no hot head Finley for 10 games could prove costly for him looking forward now to Friday evening and our line up and probable new system.

Football in this country was told to reduce the number of foreigners on work permits it employs either voluntarily or the govmt would do it with legislation. This is the FA.s response, the FL are quite happy with it. The PL not so and are putting pressure on the FL to support them in fighting it by threatening to withold the next tranche of support money. Personally i hope they fight it and force the govt to legislate and they go hard and make it no foreign player with less than 10 caps allowed in. Accept it man we.re taking our country back wether You UEFA or FIFA like it or not. And the sooner the better. |

Listening to them describing themselves, we also have a couple of attack minded midfielders to complement the attack :) Add to that what we have already and I do not have any worries :) If come January, we need the added firepower for the promotion push, I am sure that John and Jimmy will pull something out of the bag :) Time will tell :) :) :) :) |
Re: 2020/21 Squad
have to say i agree with joe on this we aint that bad now in my view only another keeper perhaps, though young savin aint bad aint seen the other lad,if we need more attack is a bit doubtful to me, jan sounds ok if we do.

But youre right its virtually certain to be no deal now which is what they should have just done 3 years ago. We are Britain we used to rule a third of the world and could do again if Boris plays this right we could destroy the EU as it stands in 5 years the only thing that can stop us are the doom mongers and Wokes. But back to the subject in hand I see the WSL and the rest of the womens game have agreed the 8 foreigner limit from next season. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54006894 And you.ll notice that in there theres the reference to what i mmentioned the other day in that the clubs know that Brexit will bring tighter regulations which can only ever be a good thing. |

Maybe someone could do the age thing excersise as players who havnt reached 21 by the 1st of Jan in the year the season starts ie Jan 1st 2020 i would imagine that would take quite a few out of the limit equation leaving plenty of room to bring a few more in if Coley wants to and the money is available to spend. |

For once in a long while I can honestly say all seven signings plus hopefully another goalkeeper could be pushing for starting places we could well be dark horses this season.

Re: 2020/21 Squad
The Squad seems to be building nicely but I agree that we need another goalkeeper yet. Some of the new signings look to have great potential but some of them haven’t played that many games in recent seasons....... and I mean before the Lockdown closure stopped all players from participating in matches. However, I am confident that our management team will get them all fully match fit and then we should see more clearly which of them are going to realise their potential. Once again, we have a really interesting few months ahead with some unanswered questions and a relatively new team to develop together and to build a real team ethic which Stanley is well known for. I am fascinated by the prospect of which players will develop into our star players and which ones fall away.....? I am really hopeful that with the balance of ages and physical stature in the squad that we will do well this season.
Just one other point regarding the pitch at The Wham Stadium.....This long ‘close season’, that we have had, is the first for a few years where the pitch has not been resurfaced and reseeded. So the grass should have really consolidated a deeper and more resilient root system. So our team should be able to play our preferred passing game throughout the whole season. Really looking forward to getting back into the stadium and cheering our team on! ON STANLEY ON:jimbo::theband: COME ON YOU REDS:wave8::jimbo: |
Re: 2020/21 Squad
Just watched a video compilation, on the Stanley Facebook page, of some of our new signings scoring goals. Some great headed goals shown so we should have an even greater aerial threat particularly at Set Pieces!:jimbo:

Re: 2020/21 Squad
Well pleased with the Stephen Sama signing if he was trialist A in the Salford outing. Be great to hit the ground running tonight but might take a month or so for the team to gel.

certainly better than evtimov anyway. he made dodgy scottish keepers of the past look safe and reliable. |
Re: 2020/21 Squad
New player coming in Monday and listening to Coley,s post match interview doesn't sound like a goalkeeper could it be a striker Southend's Stephen Humphrey been listed and wants a move near home (Oldham) Rochdale been turned down although it would require a fee just wondering.

good luck to callum, think the chelsea lads very promising lets hope so.

Re: 2020/21 Squad
All the best to Callum. Been a great player for us the past 4 years. Was hoping a Championship side would have snapped him up instead of a League rival, but regardless a good move for him. Big loss for us!

cracking lad, best wishes to him and his family, thoroughly deserved.
came as a boy and left as a man. who will be next on the conveyor belt of talent we are producing over last few seasons. |

Best of luck Calum came to us as a raw talent from Middlesbrough and left has one of the best full backs at this level and made the club a bit of coin.

Coley talking about maybe 2 more permanent signings coming in maybe down to money coming in or the fact that we are very light body wise upfront.
