its all down to the past and pre conceived ideas of certain clubs. we are little old stanley and no matter where we are in any league we should get beaten. other clubs no matter how crap they are like newcastle in the premier where victory againt them is regarded as a real good result.

Big clubs are perceived as such due to amount of support through the turnstiles in this regard Newcastle are rightly a " big " club but in regards to winning things apart from promotion to the premiership the last time they won anything of note was 52 years ago when they won the old fairs European cup. Stanley will never get in the " big " club brigade the support just isn't there we are a small town in a big football pond area if we got to the championship we would if fans are back fill the Wham every game and that to me would be an achievement never thought possible less than 3 or 4 years ago.

Absolutely agree with that .... but we’d also be a huge culture shock to lots of sides ..... still remember Fulham in the Cup ten years back :D

And Hull now apparently, complaining about our dressing rooms (after we'd beaten them of course) - loved Andy Holt's response "Give us 5 million for Dion & I'll build you some posh ones for next time you come" -- class :D

so big a club its 95 years since they won the top division trophy. at least fans of leicester and even blackburn can remember the days of when they won it. two clubs where you never hardly see kids in replica shirts of them outside their areas unlike the mighty magpies.
