We'll have to agree to disagree. Tonight we played a poor bottom of the table side short of confidence. We played reasonably well for 10 minutes and against the run of play let them score a very soft goal after a mistake and a mix up in the penalty area. They then grew into the game and we allowed them to do so. Coley failed to make changes soon enough, perhaps he believed his own statement that "alll the players know the system that we play and can slot in" .....Unfortunately that's not the case, they obviously can't just slot in. Maybe, with so little time to train between matches then the players can't be expected to just pick up roles and positions that the regular starting eleven usually play. I suppose we'll just have to get through the next month some how, without losing our positive goal difference, but if we play like that against a mid-table or top six side we could be facing some heavy defeats........let's just hope we can get another 6 points as quickly as possible.

To a point that is correct but every team has injury,s suspension,s don't forget tonight regulars out of your 13 didn't perform, Nottingham, Barclay, Hughes, Burgess, Butcher, McConville, Charles, all underperformed tonight only Smyth of the " regulars " played anything like so hard to say we would have lost with the "13 " available, Smyth shot against the post even when playing so poor if it goes in different game, onto Saturday positive thinking like Coley and bit of luck and a better all round performance 3 points

What I would add to the previous post is has I said back in the transfer window we didn't strengthen enough in the striker department and that to me is the weakest part of the squad Russell certainly ain't the answer.

After last night's round of games apart from 3 teams everyone has lost 10 or more games anybody can beat anyone in this league Sunderland made the right manager change and look like the team at the minute only lost 5 so any team apart from them seem incapable of stringing a run together wide open.

At least John Coleman had the honesty in his post match interview to admit we were poor but wouldn't use injuries to his squad as an excuse well said as we need every available player to feel appreciated and ready to step up to the task.

We lost not that long ago 3-0 at Hull and 2-0 at Crewe playing our " regular " 11.

thats been a stanley problem for the last few seasons. too many players signed who are not up to the standard and only get games in an absolute emergency. a smaller squad with better fringe players would be a better option. in a dire emergency you could put youth players on the bench who would be no worse than the older ones in the squad. its interesting where these players end up that hardly get a kick for us. its non league football and most no where near its top division.

Our squad of players has achieved 50 points by the 10th March. What a great performance by the manager, coaches and players. We all know the financial constraints that the club is under with its relatively low player budget in League 1. Am I right in thinking this is the highest league our club has ever played at in its history?

Sometimes its useful to reflect on who we are, where we've come from and what has been achieved. So "On Stanley on........."

part of the squad has achieved the 50 points. we are here in this division on total merit and the past has nothing to do with it. if there is one thing i,d love to change at the wham its the little old stanley attitude and the constant feeling of being the underdog which many thrive on.

yep and its a marvellous state of play i think, but anyone thinking we can beat the big clubs in our division over 46 games to me has rocks in their heads, im more than happy with whats occured this season.

In League 1 we are definitely the underdogs and always will be, unless some faceless entity we've never heard of steams in and takes over with a huge injection of cash. That's not something I personally want to see. Luckily we currently have ownership and management who can handle being underdogs and regularly threaten the overdogs for a while, if probably not for an entire season. Who'd have seriously thought, back in September, that we'd have a realistic shot at the play-offs come the beginning of March?
