Peterborough away thread.

Assuming no return for any injured personal one enforced change with Charles away, so stick with same side McConville upfront with Smyth could be interesting hopefully will make kick off as appointment at hospital at 14-10pm. Wife,s driving so she,ll have to put her foot 🦶 down on the accelerator instead of me.

Following the players Zoom meeting this week with us fans there won't be any injured players returning today.........Seamus doubtful for Easter games and Colby only an outside chance of malking one of the Easter games......all quiet on Joe....maybe a chance for today or Easter.....

Twenty Eight 27-03-2021 11:34

No one back today. Seamus progressing well started jogging no reaction so fingers crossed.
Dion best be involved midweek or else depriving us of his services makes no sense.
Could be tough today.

Wonder who the designated penalty taker will be in Dion's absence?

Re: Peterborough away thread.

Three at the back clearly does not work at this level for us! Could say it is only two and a half at the back because Hughes has been so slow and out of position. More proof, a third goal just conceded, as I am typing this, wide open on the flanks!

Commentator just said he is surprised Accy are sticking with three at the back because they are wide open!

Well we just aren't at the races today and that's the entire team but isn't the first time we have had a hiding here don't think any missing players would make a difference being completely outplayed all over the park damage limitation now for goal difference.

Cannot agree Andy. Playing wrong formation with wrong tactics!
Not just our players playing poorly.

Bit of both but too late a reaction at 3-0 every body could see it including the commentary team but also credit to Posh they exploited it to perfection pace and good ball control and finishing, better team on the day so far.

Seriously ?
You don't think Charles Bishop Sykes Conneely Pritchard would make a difference ?
Aside from Baxter.

Thought you had gone home, I,m trying to get behind the lads that are playing 2 more limped off we are being beaten by a better side sure but we haven't thrown like some the towel in hit the bar half chance for Nottingham, we haven't those players available like many games consigned to history but you go with the cards that are dealt.

Re: Peterborough away thread.

Played a bit better since the formation change.
Twenty eight is correct with his list of six players who would definitely make a significant difference!
IMHO Four four two is the regular formation to play. I have said before that 4-4-2 ‘basically’ becomes 2-4-4 when you attack. This maintains the central core of the team structure down the centre of the pitch. The two wide midfield players have to be mobile and be able to play like wingers. The two wide defenders have to be good tackling full backs with the mobility to get forward too! The six down the centre of the pitch don’t need to wander to far, thus maintaining the core of the formation. Of course ‘set plays’ are slightly different when your big defenders can take up receiver positions in the opponents penalty box.

My whole point about saying we miss certain " better" players that's obvious so really quite pointless posts, nobody in a red shirt has played well today it happens, would we have had a different outcome with all the " better " players maybe but they aren't available so it's irrelevant no guarantees either when back fit and available they will hit the ground running, well thrashed today nothing new at London Road we learn and move on.

Wouldn’t say he’s done anything wrong but can understand why Russell and Phillips came on. Been out injured for a long time.
Needs to build his fitness up ready for next season. Could be another academy player coming through into starting XI.

Not at all. Imagine being 1-0 down with a couple of minutes to go with the momentum in your favour and the opposition slowing the game down the 5 separate subs.
It’s always been the case with 3 opportunities, just increased the amount of subs to 5.

Like you yourself said deluded but I have thouraly enjoyed the thread this afternoon far more entertaining than the game and a bit of fun to relieve the boredom of lockdown, and just listened to Coley who praised Posh couldn't believe another 4 injuries refused to hide behind injury,s and even though well beat spoke up for the squad saying he believes we will have league 1 football again next season a hell of an achievement for Stanley well said John welcome to the old deluded club.

I have to agree with you andy, I've just watched Coley's after match interview and I think that it great that he didn't hide behind our injuries and was honest in his summary overall and praised Peterboro and how well they played also he wasn't critical of any of our side who must be feeling very down at the moment and need encouragement and not a brow beating.

Incredible.
Keep turning it Andy.
You said what you did live with it.
You join a long line of other posters who cant deal with the truth and who looked for my demise.
What I have learnt as before is to not walk away - keep challenging.
