A point at Sunderland-again...I'll take that with bells and whistles. Well done blokes in red.

Stanley did well to get a deserved point after a poor start. Harvey Rogers played more as a standard right back in the second half and helped to stop Sunderland from whipping their dangerous crosses in from the wings!
The Stanley boys worked so hard in the second half though covering every inch of the pitch. The third for Sunderland was unlucky as one of our boys miscontrolled the ball on the edge of their penalty box which allowed them to break down the middle of the pitch outnumbering us four to two!:mad:
When we were awarded that free kick late on I said to myself.......”Sean, classic top left hand corner!” It could be seen from his body language as he carefully placed the ball and set up his short run up that he was confident of scoring! Sean duly carried out his routine perfectly for a wonderful trademark set piece goal!:theband::jimbo::mosher::jimbo:
It didn’t look too good after those first two goals were conceded but after that Stanley were excellent.
Blunderland will be ‘pig sick’ this evening, which just happens to make me pretty happy!:rofl38::rofl38::rofl38:
Feels a bit like ‘A Win’ .....so the beer will taste good tonight!:signbeer::drink::drink::drink::rose8:
ON STANLEY ON:theband::mosher:
KEEP THE FAITH

Great game to watch had a bit of everything once we got our shape right we started to boss the game some good performance,s Sean, Colby and Phillips starting to show what a good player he is don't know his contract situation at Burnley but if still their hopefully they will loan him again to us some of his vision and passing was sublime today made all the difference to our forward play.

Just needs to work on the end product. Got into advanced positions, did the hard work but finishing not there.

He’s a midfielder not a forward.
He makes really good runs and finds great positions around the box but often never troubles the keeper ....... start at least hitting the target and goals will come.

Re: Sunderland away thread

When Adam Philips first came into the team he seemed to over hit many crosses and corners, some quite wildly. Now he seems to have settled in, that part of his game is much improved and he’s shown what he can do in the last couple of games (coincidentally, just as Matt Butcher’s form seems to have dipped, which is worrying).
But he certainly needs a bit of practice on his finishing.
Mind you, if he could finish as well, he might be recalled by Burnley!
