Well let’s see how is to be used. Another sub?

Don’t think Pressley and Stockton would have been a match made in heaven, and that probably was a non starter anyway. Can name 91 League sides they would rather sell, too. I have never seen Nathan but his write-up appears to make him a good choice for Pressley’s running mate, which would free Sean Whalley for a more creative role.

But will it happen? Not sure. Coley’s never been good at the “Kill your darlings” game. Will it be Pressley or Nathan rather than and? Hope not.

Tend to agree, Gregor.
Let’s hope this new lad can show us what he’s got and deliver balls into the box and the net.
It’s hard to imagine how Stanley can reverse their recent league form unless they field at least two out and out attackers.
For what seems like months we’ve had Tommy Leigh laying off headers to the opposition because there‘s rarely another player in red close to him.
It would seem a waste of Pressley’s talents to have him play the same lone striker role.

butler-oyedeji & pressley as strike partners

Re: Transfer Window

Successful teams are organised to defend as a team & attack as a team.
Leeds simply overran our defence in numbers to score 2 of their 3 goals.
Our reliance in the past of hoping one solitary striker will score against an organised defence has proved a tactical disaster.
The sooner we get back to fast wing play with at least 2 strikers in the box the better.

Re: Transfer Window

in league 1 the majority of teams have 6' 2" plus defenders, butler-oyedeji is a young 5' 10" striker that would be bullied out of the game if playing on his own up front, the option to play him as a strike partner with 6' 4" pressley would seem to be ideal

Re: Transfer Window

All will be revealed on Saturday. I can't see young Butler-Oyedeji playing a full game on Saturday but I can never understand why Coley doesn't start with say Pressley and Butler-O up front together even if one or both of them have to come off after an hour. We all know goals change games and if they did score......it would really have an impact on the game. Can't see him starting but I hope he gets longer than 10 to 15 minutes on the pitch........fingers crossed...

Re: Transfer Window

Surprisingly its been a pretty good window for us.......two strikers in on loan and an attacking mid-fielder signed permanent...........Can't remember if that's EVER happened before in the January window?

Re: Transfer Window

There are also free transfers out there, some might not be any use, but there might just be that one out there....?

Great interview from Nathan on the Fishy. Comes across as an intelligent and determined lad. Good luck to him.
