Re: vs Forrest thread
If we can play against ten men every week we can do it!
Up to the sending off we were being out played by, supposedly, the worst team in the league. Good time and way to get the equaliser, although it was a softish header and their keeper fumbled it. Second half, young Martin was a good introduction, as was Nolan and the second goal was well taken by Longelo. Yet again he was our best attacking player; he got no protection from the ref and inevitably had to hobble off after one too many hacking tackles. But, 3 points was the order of the day and Stanley delivered. Well done to the lads. |

Re: vs Forrest thread
Jensen was our Man of the Match for me because of his two top class saves on 11 minutes and 18 minutes.:alright:
We could have been 3-0 down when Forest Green scored but for his saves. It wasn’t a good match with both sides not in good form and with such a poor referee who was just so inconsistent!:ooh: The only thing he got right today was the Red Card which allowed us to take a hold on the game.:130: I could not work out what position Sean Mac was supposed to be playing? Pressley did a lot of the defensive play by running back and across when our opposing wing backs were moving forward with the ball. Once again Longelo was our most attacking player but got another battering! Playing Aaron up front with young Nathan looks a good plan but it needs time to allow a partnership to develop. Time is short though! Great to see Kode Adedoyin back in play and his strength and skill was super and just what we need. Kode and Aaron could be a partnership worth starting with. The current defensive trio is risky I believe. Harvey has developed into a great centre back but both Fernandes and Sangare look somewhat shaky. They are really over exposed because a back three has much greater space between the defenders than a more compact back four. To play a back trio all three need to be very skilful under pressure and have really good positional sense. I would much rather see us play a 4-4-2 formation which can become a 2-4-4 when we are in possession and attacking. Needs very mobile wing backs and wide midfield players who both have the ‘winger’ capability to beat a player like Longelo possesses.:juggle2: KEEP THE FAITH:theband::rose8: ON STANLEY ON:signbeer::drink::wave8: |
Re: vs Forrest thread
OK, I do not follow other Clubs, so I do not know the answer, but seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
https://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/...ent-fa-charge/ How long before we are fined for kicking the ball to hard.................... I saw highlights of a game at the weekend, where - in a matter of 40 seconds - a player threw the ball at another, then said player pushed Assistant and NOTHING was done.....................................  :) |

A breach of FA Rule E20 ? :idunno:
“It is alleged that the club failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 43rd minute.” :idunno: Anyone know what our players did wrong then? :idunno: |

The 43 minute was when FGR had a man sent off for dangerous play. Other than Stanley’s Captain and others surrounding the ref, no doubt demanding a red card, which happens in EVERY game whether or not a red card is deserved, I don’t know how “disorderly” is now judged. Having said that, I do feel Conneely spends a bit too much of his time challenging the refs, and, no doubt, they get fed up with it. But, on the evidence of the FGR match I’d suggest every club should be charged under this rule every time they play. |
Re: vs Forrest thread
We do seem to get the rough end of the stick though when you consider we don't do anything different to what every other team does as part of the current game. It cant be an easy job as a referee in the modern game but, all we are asking is that we are treated fairly and decisions are consistent for both teams. For me, the best referee ive seen this season at the Wham is the lady referee by a country mile ( cant remember the game or the lady's name but i thought she did really well).

Re: vs Forrest thread
The EFL summary on Monday's in a daily newspaper is normally about 3 paragraphs for the whole of the EFL and we barely ever get a mention. This week at least a paragraph was Duncan Ferguson complaining about our players getting their poor innocent lamb sent off! Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
