A Gentlemanly Diversion!.

Yesterday being 'Ladies Day' at the FES, and as a slight diversion from post-match analysis, and Depechemode's unwelcome and pointless ramblings,I thought it might not be out of place to put on record my small tribute to the many 'Lady' Fans who support our team week in and week out!.
This was stimulated by my coming accross an old friend of mine in the Sports Bar before yesterday's game. In spite of the bitter wind and driving drizzle, and some failing in her health, she had nevertheless with the support of a walking aid, made the effort to get to the FES and to lend her voice to the other 800 (?) of us who got behind the Reds. She was hoping to watch the Match from the comfort of a lounge seat, and i believe that this courtesy was afforded to her.
When considering this later, it was evident to me that this really was the perfect example of what a 'True' Fan is !...and being a bit of a gentleman
felt that I had to say this somewhere. So why not our Forum?.

I hope that this thread might stimulate others to cast off their chauvinistic
mantles, and remember others of the fair sex without whom our great Club,
would be a poorer place !..

My friend will, health permitting, be at the FES on Wednesday evening.
I can bet on that!. There will be no ruminating about yesterday's result,
no critiscism of the Team or the Manager, just wholehearted support!!
' HERE'S TO THE LADIES'

( Incidentally, it's not true that the first prize in 'The Ladies Raffle' was an
opportunity to meet Ricky Kirby and take place in a Crossbar Challenge!)

'WHAT ME WORRY?' 'ON STANLEY.....ON!!'

Re: A Gentlemanly Diversion!.

It may be an idea if the ultras remember that there are ladies watching the match and moderate some of their obscene chants. The ultras do a fine job of supporting the Reds and they dont offend me,but I was stood next to a lady yesterday and she was not suited

I think the idea for the Ladies Day was a good one and would like to think it could a permanent yearly Event that can certainly be built upon, I would also like to congratulate the people from the Academy on the match at half time. Both things are good for the future of the Club and should be built on!! I know a lot went on behind the scenes with ideas etc for these things to happen but I would like to see the reigns loosened now and again on what really mattters because these type of things really can help shape the future of the Club

I hope this isn't going to turn into a request to curb swearing at the football.

And me. I love swearing at the footy. It's the only reason I go.

Perhaps he had spent some time with the monkey if it was a while ago,(probably thought it was his dad).

Martin Luther king said.....

'If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving', and I am rapidly losing the hope that a decently worded and potentially interesting thread might stimulate an equally decent response, rather than the interchange of useless banalites which are in evidence tonight!!

My guru...Alfred himself...said..'What me worry'.. At this moment I am
beginning to worry!...not about the Reds..but about the declining quality of
thought, or lack of it, exhibited by some contributors to our Forum!.

I know that I shouldn't rise to the bait Oggy, but ????????
