Re: cheapest pies in the league

I don't fancy the pies at Albion, Alloa or Forfar; a quid for a pie? Bet it's deep-fried ..........And I ain't about to go to Kidderminster either ........£4.00? Who are they kidding?

Re: cheapest pies in the league

And anyway, why didn't they compare the prices of Bovril? That would have been a culture shock at Chelsea and Arsenal .................

No idea as to where the price of £1-50 came from. Guess that's the "early bird" price the day before a game, before they are heated up!!

Re: cheapest pies in the league

Don't know what they cost but there must be really something about them !. Because Rotherham United was the first sporting venue where Pukka Pies were ever sold. AND now Rotherham United's supporters hold the record for the most pies consumed at a football match, with a consumption 40% above the Football League average.
Could this have been the real reason for their slightly overweight Manager's desire to make his slightly hurried move to Northern climes ?.

As for the Stanley Pie...well Alfred.E. and I love 'em in spite of later rumblings from ancient Digestive Tracts !!.

ps... Am I the only one left who remembers ' Looas and Peas'... served from a large enamel washing-up bowl ??..now there really was a half-time treat. ( And there was pickled Red Cabbage to go with it !!... FOR FREE !!!**...
