Re: craney

TBH, although Id love to see Ian end up here, id sooner see us spending a big chunk of our budget fixing up the back line with a few quality defenders, then busting the bank to bring him home.

The sell on fee we imposed would however mean wed save a sizable chunk on any fee, although if Peterborough come in, theres no way we could compete.

Maybe an extension of his loan until the end of the season?

Re: craney

I like the lad and he has got a cultured touch, but we cannot afford to spend a hundred grand or more on someone who doesn't make that much of a difference to the team. That much money could buy four quality defenders or a top notch League 2 striker. It could also pay for two top drawer sales executives and leave money left over for a marketing budget. We are seven wins away from safety and whilst that is by no means guaranteed it is close by so we need to start looking at how to increase next years budget. Buying Craney will not increase the budget of anything.

Re: craney

Would there have to be a fee involved?

Re: craney

well bearing in mind that Swansea turned down £100k at the start of the season and now Peterborough are more than sniffing around then yes. Bidding will start at £100k, but then again Craney doesn't have to go anywhere he doesn't want to. But I am sure that as much as he might want to come back here and as much as we/Coley/Eric might want him, money talks and players walk. Posh will offer at least twice as much as we can on wages alone.
