Another whose career has nosedived since Stanley but his weakness was his defending and I think other managers have better options, good going forward maybe better deployed in midfield.

You can't sign a pre-contract now as it is another English club, and it benefits them to do the deal now rather at risk of relegation.

The fee would reflect the fact there is only 6 months left, and yes it is likely other clubs would pay similar for a scarce resource.
