Erics plans for the future

Nice big article in the Lancs Telegraph(part 1 of 2) with Eric outling various plans

I quote

"he is prepared to provide the necessary resources manager John Coleman seeks to ensure Accrington are not faced with another scrap for survival ............. work on the stadium has begun in earnest with contractors moving in to level off the playing surface ........ it is costing a six-figure sum to level off the pitch .. and around £200,000 will be spent on installing a 1000 seater stand on the Whinney Hill Terrace over the next 12 months ......"

Well done Eric and everyody at the club, this is the kind of early pre-season promises we need to hear.

Are there any artists impressions we can see online?

Next season is gonna be a little more transition I think, but we had two transitionary seasons in the Conference and then wallop! We will be able to see the future by then end of next season.

it isn't online yet

Are they putting a sprinkler system in while they level the pitch. Most noticeable thing when I was there last week was how dry the pitch was.

I thought that the Clayton End Roo was the first priority. We will just have to wait and see if a 1000 seater stand IS erected on the Whinney Hill Terrace over the next 12 months. It's OK promising to do improvements but getting them done is another thing.

So where am I going to stand?????

I don't want to be with the riff-raff behind the goals.

Re: Erics plans for the future

but the roof for the Clayton End has been subject to funding application hasn't it? Providing the funding goes through then that work will be done regardless of whether we build the San Siro on the Whinney Hill Terrace. If funding fails then we would probably never see it. For now I am happy to see what happens in part 2 of Erics interview as to whether any mention is made. It is only about a fortnight ago that he was quoted in one of the papers as saying they want to get the cover up this summer

Re: Erics plans for the future

If it is seating on the Whinney Hill side and no roo on the Clayton End will it cost more to sit on the Whinney Hill side than to stand behind the goals ? If it does and the Whinney Hill side is segregated from the Clayton End fans will have no cover at all when it rains.

I think it would look good if the new stand had the word STANLEY spelt out in white letters in the seats, similiar to the ASFC on the other side.

12 months? Personally I don't see it, but at least it shows Eric has ambition. Can we recycle the cow shed roof and put it on the Clayton End so those at the very back dont get wet?

ON STANLEY ON.
