Re: FAO: Away travvlers, stanley ultras

Here's the press release in full. It looks tailor made for the Ultras.

SKY ONE ARE SEEKING FANS TO TAKE APRT IN A NEW SERIES LOOKING INTO THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF BEING AN AWAY SUPPORTER.

“Away Trips” is a brand new series for Sky One looking into the passion and dedication it takes to be an away fan. Just what drives hundreds of thousands of people to travel hundreds of miles every Saturday afternoon? Why do people prefer to battle against the traffic, awful weather, dilapidated stadiums, and the infamous dodgy pie when they could just stay at home?

Can the answer really be about a mere 90 minutes of inevitably turgid action at some far-flung outpost of the football empire? No, of course it’s not.

We are looking for people to help us portray this great, but largely unseen obsession. Regardless of what team you support, which division they are in, or where they are in Great Britain, we want to hear your trials and tribulations of being an away fan, no matter how obscure.

Filming starts at the end of January until late March 2005 and we want to know what away trips you have planned?

Whatever your story, we want to hear from you! To get in touch, please call us on 0870 881 0865 or email [email protected]

Dear Sir/Madam

We write in regard to your recent advertsiement for away travel tales.

We have recently, at Accrington Stanley, initiated a new supporters group with a continental feel that we feel would be of interest to your programme. We have called the group the "Stanley Ultras", nothing rascist or "Naughty" but a group of regular away travellers that now carry out ultra style displays. Obviously, this is only an initial e-mail but please check out our website at www.stanleyultras.co.uk for an idea of the vibe.

We are also planning an away trip to Woking in fancy dress which will certainly be a trip not to miss!

If you require any further details please contact on 07788 716164.

Kind Regards

Jase Graham

Its the same little birdy that told the ultras you where at the burnley game and not poorly as you tried to tell everyone when you let them down re two seats on the coach to halifax.. Have you paid them the 20 quid you robbed them of yet?

So which "half" did you write, Kev, seeing as this article appears in very similar form on the sky one site and a number of other football mad sites? All you seem to have done is take out a couple of lines at the beginning. It'd obvious you didn't have a hand in it anyway - it's far too well written!

Once again, Kev proves how shall we say "economical with the truth."
