Ian Hughes

I read in last night's Telegraph that Ian Hughes, the centre half we had on trial from Huddersfield, has signed for Bacup Borough. Not much ambition from him by signing for them. Anyway this leaves us still looking for a commanding, experienced centre half to marshall the defence, and still a goalkeeper. Let's hope that someone arrives soon. As I have said before IF WE HAD A DEFENCE WE WOULD BE DANGEROUS.

Re: Ian Hughes

Shame. I was certainly impressed with his performances in a Stanley shirt.

Re: Ian Hughes

According to teletext he's chosen to go to Bacup so he can play with his old youth team coach from Bury but in the LET Coley said Stanley hadn't offered him anything.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Re: Ian Hughes

Hmmm... it looks as if our defence is going to be very similar to last season, with the exception of the left-back position.
