Loan players worries

I was watching Late Kick Off on Monday night, the FIFA banning of emergency loan players was on the agenda. It's a big worry for Stanley and other lower league clubs for obvious reasons, what are your thoughts?
I've posted the link below to watch the article, just click onto 16 minutes and 30 seconds.

Re: Loan players worries

Since when has FIFA ever had any interests in the fate of small clubs?

There was another report in one paper of a group of clubs across the world (so not just from manchester, then?) thinking about setting up an organisation (run by the clubs, of course) to wrest control of the game from FIFA.
Clubs like Stanley (the majority) will forever be caught between the bureaucratic buffoons of FIFA and the greed of the big clubs.
C'est la vie.

Re: Loan players worries

Loan players at Stanley has shown mixed results just have a look who has come and gone this season

It can give the player a chance to gain valuable first team experience which serves the player, parent club and Stanley in this case, it can be sometimes difficult to judge a player on a short term loan deal and could also disrupt the side on the other side like when Kevin Long went back to the Clarets it created a big void in the heart of the defence we have struggled to fill.

I am a fan of the loan system but I think there is a level in terms of numbers that sometimes create more problems than it solves.

The loan system is a "Must" fer the small clubs, without it i fear many more may go to the wall, But since when have FIFA given a stuff about smaller clubs?

Re: Loan players worries

Agree with Pendle, Longy left us with a massive hole at the back. For me second only to Rob Elliot in respects of players we have had on loan.

What's your best Stanley Loan Players Starting XI ?

Absolutely But which forward to drop ...

When thinking about this earlier, I noticed that we have taken a lot of defenders and strikers on loan, but very few midfielders (worth remembering ... hopefully Will Hatfield will make me eat my words!).

5 (that are on loan from an English side) in the match day squad.

Overseas loans (ie Podge) dont count.
