Peterborough

Not looking good!
Posh obviously a better side, but our defending not impressive. Just play the ball forward and our three backs will lose the foot race.

Re: Peterborough

We have been poor going forward, but not terrible imo. But the defending? Ouch!

Thought so too, the second at least. Couldn’t be certain, though. But the defending was still awful. Of that I AM certain.

Re: Peterborough

We are on the verge of relegation & playing at home with 1 striker up front.
We're now 0-2 down. For God's sake JC do something!
Drop Pressley & get Nolan & Lowe on.
The annoying thing is Cambridge are losing. If we could win this game we'd be out of the bottom four.
Waiting to see if anything will change

Re: Peterborough

Just watched the highlights (if you can really call them that when we loose))...First goal marginal and in real time I can understand the flag staying down, but the second was clearly offside, didn't need a frame by frame..I await Cashys summation of the officiating .

Re: Peterborough

The Posh showed why they are challenging for promotion with their slick passing and clever interplay. Stanley got back into the match after the substitutions in the second half and through the hard work by the likes of Hamilton, Clarke, Quirk, Longelo, Leigh and the fresh legs of Lowe and Nolan. Our team has constantly had gaps and shortcomings and has been subject to too many changes all season mainly caused by injuries and suspensions.
Even from the Clayton End I thought that the second goal would have been cancelled for offside. I looked straight away to the linesman but obviously I was not in the best place to judge it. At half time Valairian texted me to say both goals were offside as he was watching on I follow.
The Clayton End maintained their superb support and helped to lift the players in that good spell when we scored.
It is clearly very difficult to see us surviving but please let us maintain our full support for the boys in red!

Re: Peterborough

Just watched the highlights and agree with Kiwijohn that the first goal was marginal but the second was clearly offside. I froze the play at 58 seconds, IMHO clearly offside! More poor work from the match officials!

Re: Peterborough

The 11 players who ended the match should have been on from the start.
Notice most of the assists/efforts came from Longelo.
He was also the most fouled player - says everything!

Spot on LS. Nolan should have been given an extended run in the team long since.
We are always lastminute.com making substitutes. The two substitutes should have been given a chance from half time when it was obvious things were not going to plan.

Re: Peterborough

Stanley put up another battling second half counter-offensive but found it impossible to beat their fitter, faster, and better coached opponents, with the help of another weak referee and linesmen.
Couldn’t see any of the goals from the Clayton End but both Posh goals looked offside to me. The second was so offside their scorer was in a different post code.

Then I noticed this opening statement on Wikipedia about the company that runs the refereeing business …
“Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) is the body responsible for fixing games in English professional football.”

That explains a lot.
