Re: Portsmouth at home

Never a dull moment at The Wham!
Best first half performance from the Stanley 10 men I’ve seen this season, but just couldn’t threaten their goal. Pompey had barely a shot and went in 0-1 up.
Thought Pompey would dominate second half yet, again, the Red10 gave it their all and matched them in everything other than putting the ball in the net.

Good to see Kode get a consolation but the difference was that 20% of Stanley’s shot were on target, compared with Pompey’s 70%.

As for the red card and injuries, just another normal outcome from a game for Stanley, it seems.

We should be good with 10 men by now, we practice it often enough ....

Re: Portsmouth at home

Disastrous Red Card again. A poor decision to duck under a through ball caused Jensen to come out, but too far!
From twenty minutes up to half time though Stanley totally outplayed Pompey. We could have gone in to half time 2-1 or even 3-1 up if we just had a little bit of luck on our side.
Half time did seem to disrupt our flow a little bit but we still matched our opponents. The second goal was helped by the extra man as we got players pulled out of position.
When Pompey went rightly down to ten men we got back on top and the substitutions helped bring some renewed vigour to our play. Lady Luck went against us again for the third goal as Toby made a good save which dropped straight at Colby’s feet and he did what he does best! Colby didn’t celebrate his goal though and he got applause from the Clayton End.
He got a great ovation too when he was subbed.
Tonight and the draw at Charlton gives me some real hope that we can stay in League One. More players coming back from injury and there were some great performances from our boys tonight.
Once again IMHO the referee was very poor. No quibble with Jensen’s red card but his inconsistency was so visible when awarding free kicks. I also think he needs to go to Specsavers as he saw things that I didn’t see and missed things that I saw!
Hilarious to see the linesman rolling about on the pitch after he bounced off Coley.
Seriously though it could have come out worse!

Big match, MUST WIN, on Saturday!

Re: Portsmouth at home

Although I was disappointed with the result I enjoyed last night's match and I thought every man put in a full shift. I felt sorry for Dan Martin having to be subbed for Savin as I have been impressed with Dan when he has got on the field but I would think that he will understand why he had to be subbed.

We’ll no doubt be fined for our players protesting to the ref.
But don’t be surprised if Pompey’s protests go unpunished.

Re: Portsmouth at home

I agree Exile that does seem to be way that matters like that pan out - Stanley getting a fine and the opponents getting a caution at most.
