Re: Signings

Out of interest, I wonder what Sykes postcode is................ Good luck to the lad if he gets a move. Another case of "Face doesn't fit" more than likely.

Re: Signings

The kids got talent. However sometimes it's assumed they're ready where they're not.
Very difficult to curb enthusiasm.
If he goes he won't get near the first team squad for two seasons.
Regan Poole another talent who was at Newport now with Man U. Just gone on loan to Northampton.

He would be lucky to get a proper chance here in two seasons in my view, the few bits we have seen of him playing with the big boys he dont look outa place, not just my view that either.

Re: Signings

Ross is officially still at Stanley. He's been at Leeds on trial but as yet, no offer has been made. Watch this space.

He's a novice and still growing physically.
Certainly talented but if I'm honest not ready for the rigours of League Two - just yet.
He will get lost in the mire with Leeds.

Re: Signings

You find most young centre backs tend to be given more game time at fullback,e.g. Tom lees, whilst they get experience.
Probably their mistakes are less costly in wide areas.
Think the emergence of Rodgers last year cost Sykes his chance, good young player tho

I'm one of Sykes biggest fans, Not seen a great deal of him but when I have he's looked good!

The thing is now who do you drop to "give him a game"

Personally I'd send him out on loan, not because he's not good enough but just to get him that invaluable experience before throwing him in at League 2!

Let's just hope whoever's on it stays put & doesn't 'do a Buxton' & disappear tomorrow.

P.s. Does anyone know if squad nos are done today too?

I agree baldy. He's potentially a big money asset for the club. To allow him to leave now wouldn't be a very good business decision to say the least.

Re: Signings

The kid is ambitious and eager. Nothing wrong with that but he needs to take stock. The grass isn't always greener.
Leicester were dead keen last year as were Sunderland.
All in good time Ross. Leeds not right for you.

Re: Signings

Ross played tonight against Padiham!

Still think he could do with a loan move instead of being chucked Infront of a bus at football league level and a few hours in the gym with some weights!

Looks promising though

Squad numbers are Friday;

Following issues such as Bucko last year all on photo are contracted players
