Mick as usual was being a little over-protective because he knows that I am a sensitive sort of guy, he didn't want to mention the fact that I did get a little too close to the Daddy long legs I was in tears for almost a full milli-second.

I was going to start a thread in Hints tips & advice but now the subject has been brought up.

Can anyone advise how to remove dried and encrusted insect remains from the lens of a camera without scratching it?

Done in Macro mode on an old Nikon S5700 (not our pro gear). As macro as it gets, unfortunately - not a particularly friendly camera.
