My initial thought was that the river photo no8 is Hurst Green again. There's a footpath that leads down to the river from the Shireburn Arms. That's where I think that bend in the river is. Probably wrong

Possibly not Bernard. I think photos 4 >> 9 were taken on the same outing. Certainly 4 & 5 ... the lady there would be my grandmother .. same outfit. No. 1 appears to be of the same sort of quality. Will have to take a run out there soon.

Looking again at Photo 5 (the bridge) the stones in the arch are very unusual

You'll all probably laugh, but is no. 2 not Whalley church. Havent been around the churchyard that much to be honest, but, it just reminded me of it.

Ah thanks for your interest Atarah .. don't think is Whalley Church :

Am beginning to think this church does not exist, either demolished, altered dramatically in the last 100 years.... or maybe my grandfather stumbled into Brigadoon one day ...

Bernard: Did find a photograph on line that resembles that bend in the river .. can't put it up ... 'tis copyright ... see Mick am learning. At least, the 'photos I have put up are my family copyright ...
