Really nice pub I can't fault it. It's that big with loads of different areas, it's easy to hide from minging ex's and drunken sleeze bags that fancy there chances.

Re: New Bar In Town

What are the prices like in the Calder? Are they above town centre prices, town centre prices or local pub prices? Also what's the draught beers like? Might have a look in Friday, so you never know Geoff, might be acting out some of my own points on Thursday.

Re: New Bar In Town

I am old enough to remember the same things being said about The Bees Knees and the Regency and the Warners Arms etc.etc. The only difference being that they had always been pubs. The owners didn't have to flex their financial muscle to shove a sucessful retailer out of the way in order to grab share of what is, apparently, a shrinking market.

Accrington Town Centre has lost even more retailing space as a result of this development. There are plenty of fading pubs in town which could have done with being given a new lease of life. Something to remember when we next have a moan about how lousy the shopping experience is in Accrington.

Good thinking. I'm lost with all these mingers, chavs, moshers, townies and the like. Do they have them in Scotland or is the place just full of teuchters?

We have our share as well unfortunately. As for Teuchters they stay north of Stirling so I am safe from rampent pillaging.
