Loved the dancing downstairs.

Yes! we had some fun down there, and also in Broad Oak works, there was a slab of pavement halfway up that used to get really hot in the winter, we used to meet there as well.

I remember once standing on top of the Coppice before trees were ever planted, and seeing most of the town covered in what I thought was cloud, it must have been all the muck from the factory...

We went from St Oswalds when it was near the bottom of Willows Lane, no bus for us, we had to walk two by two in all weathers once a week. From what I remember it was a lady that taught us to swim,...

Anticipation of who you would see, hoping that it would not rain, making plans, new friends then new places a long way from home and very young, it seems like only yesterday.

I remember meeting others at the No 1 stall, a lot of the lads used to play snooker at the Elite club? think it was that. Used to sit for hours in the Blue Dahlia much to parents alarm. Copper kettle...

Birtwistle Yard was behind Birtwistle Street, My great grandparents lived there.
The Ledger yard was through a ginnel by the Ledger Pub on the right hand side as you went up Plantation Street....
