Coleman's Criticism of the Accrington Public

I get a bit cheesed off with Coleman’s regular tv jibes at the Accrington public for not supporting the side. There are many reasons, some economic, some social, some historic and possibly the fact...

Peter Walsh - RIP

My father died this week. Over two years ago he suffered a stroke which left him severely disabled and confined to a wheelchair. The purpose of this thread is twofold. First of all to thank the club...

Re: Pioneer 79

First of all thanks to Mobertol for publicising on Accyweb Pioneer 79's ultimately successful bid to win the Mall competition. I also agree with Lancsdave in his view that the sort of money generated...

Re: Pioneer 79

A big thank you to all those supporting Pioneer 79 Swimming Club in the Mall's 'Local Champion' competition. A prize of £5000 goes to the organisation who accumulates the most tokens. The current...

Re: Killed in Action

Thanks for your kind words LTR. I posted this on behalf of a few swimming club members who are also Stanley fans, including some of our youngest members who regularly attend Stanley’s matchday club....

Killed in Action

As a Stanley fan I would like to bring to the attention of the wider sporting community the tragic death of a young marine in Afghanistan last week. David Fairbrother was a member of Pioneer 79...

Re: Stadium Name

Oh well! It looks like I'm in a small minority of fans who would wish to have a more evocatively named ground, perhaps with a link to the history of the immediate area. The NORI would be my choice.

Stadium Name

I've long been disappointed with the stadium name since the demise of Peel Park. The Crown Ground has always seemed a bit insipid, being named after the nearby pub. I could understand the 'Interlink...

Re: chris turner

I have to agree with everything said so far about Chris. I managed a team in the Accrington & District League and Chris used to play with us. He was always the player that I thought would make it...

Re: Che Guevara moment

Great idea, although I'm a bit defeatist regarding 'citizen smith' style power to the people efforts. The establishment and big business always win (see judiciary and banks versus the people -...

Re: "Save Our Stanley"

Re: "Save Our Stanley"

This is my first post so I hope I manage to conquer the technology!

As a low key lifelong Stanley fan and one of the organisers of the recent Pioneer 79 Swimming Club sportsmans dinner, it is...
