Re: Pre-season friendlies

First chance I've had to see Stanley since last season, and what a transformation.
Gone was the panic stricken hoofball, replaced by a calm, confident team playing fast attacking football. Where...

Re: Bits & Bobs

Your wish is granted!
Another local derby to make up for the loss of Morecambe.
You can't beat success for bringing out the fans.
No doubt the lattics will bring a bumper following to the Wham.

Re: ASFC Academy

The utilitarian interior of 'Coley's Bar', open to the roof with exposed ceiling ducts etc., was obviously a design choice aimed at keeping costs down.
Unfortunately, the result is a giant tin-can...

Re: Next Season...

So in short, without Andy Holt we wouldn't have a league club

Re: Statement from Andy Holt

This quote was made in direct response to those comments in post no.3
'He was vocal supporting far right policies and it is the best he steps away'
The implication being that Andy Holt should...

Re: Statement from Andy Holt

My earlier criticism regarding the market hall fiasco made no mention of any particular political party, merely pointing out what a self-inflicted disaster it has been for the town.
It is you who...

Re: Statement from Andy Holt

I recall seeing all of the plans submitted for the new clubhouse development at the time, they were professionally produced & publicly available on the fishy site.
Are you implying that Coley's bar...

Re: Statement from Andy Holt

Taking the statement at face value, I think he's entitled to 'a bit of a rant'
This is a man who's invested heavily, not only saving our club financially but developing the Wham into a decent...

Safe & Sound

What an amazing result today to ensure another season in the EFL.
Who expected us to beat high flying Walsall away?
I vote to keep our blue 2nd strip for another season.
It must be our luckiest...

Poor old fingers crossed, nul points again?
Wish we could play them every week.

Re: A second half to forget - Tranmere home

You couldn't make it up!
It only took 23 minutes to go from another season in L2 to the verge of the abyss.
The buck stops with Doolan.

Re: The no point delaying it we've lost at Bromley thread

The most embarrassing, inept performance I have witnessed.
The scoreline could actually have been even worse.
Bromley were everything Stanley were not. Slick in possession, they played fast...

Re: Tranmere away

"They haven't won here since 1958", said the commentator at last nights game. As if to emphasise what a bogey team Tranmere have become for Stanley. ...

Re: Second minute goal handicap - Doncaster at home thread

Judging by our recent performances against the other two teams currently propping up the table, don't hold your breath!
Our defeats by both Carlisle & Morecambe, who appear incapable of...

Re: Four points off the drop zone - Morecambe 23rd Placed Away Post Mortem

John Coleman's contribution to Stanley's success in the past cannot be questioned and he will always hold a place in our hall of fame.
Although I would suggest he had as many dissenters as...

Re: Four points off the drop zone - Morecambe 23rd Placed Away Post Mortem

Stanley could & should have been 2 - 0 up by halftime, such was our dominance in the first 35 minutes.
At least two gilt-edged goal scoring chances were wasted.
Those missed opportunities came...

Re: Cod Almighty - Tony Crosland your boys took a beating

The ref must have had a right pair of lungs.
He blew up for fouls 29 times, stopping play on average every 3 minutes!
Did our old friend Harvey Rodgers have a decent game?

Re: Carlisle away

They've won 5 of the last six games & stand 1 point from automatic promotion with a game in hand.
Is it a money free miracle?????

Re: Carlisle away

Of course money isn't the only thing that matters in football.

Merely pointing out that those who have it always find a place at the top table, while those without fight over the meagre crumbs...

Re: Carlisle away

Today's result at rock bottom Carlisle proves only two things;
1. This is possibly our worst squad, even including our non-league days, when we were capable of competing with and sometimes beating...

Ha! You call that fog?
Here's an image from the good old days, when you could field 15 players and no one had a clue.
What an opportunity missed

Re: Tranmere Rovers match thread

When was this decided? Appears to be the only game in England, Scotland & Wales to be postponed due to fog - Ludicrous!

Re: vs Bromley

Please define 'horrible'?
Was it that they committed fewer fouls than us - or that they scored 2 goals & left with 3 points?
Perhaps it's time Stanley stopped being so 'nice' to our opponents.
