Just to re-ignite the debate, after today's game, the proof is most certainly in the subbing :D

Colby, massive difference when he came on - did 10 times more than Ashley-Seal (not knocking the young lad) :)

Finley - scored the winner (enough said!!)

Joe Pritchard, changed the game completely!! What a strike that was!! :)
Dangerous from the minute he stepped on the pitch, he ran absolute riot in the midfield!!!

This thread is about substitutes, but, our midfield played their part today - the shape of things to come???

As previously mentioned, yesterday we actually had players on the subs bench better than the starting 11. That’s rare.

If you start with your best 11 there’s not much point making subs just for the sake of it, is there?

As you say, it’s been rare for Stanley, so we’ll done to the coaching staff & manager for assembling this squad.

But one reason I can think of is if one of your better players is in danger of receiving one too many yellow cards.
 
Correct cashy,

There was once a article (in the times?) where they interviewed a good number of football managers at the time and said the main reason for a sub was fitness/fresh legs and injury ; too many people's suprise tactical changes was not in the top 2 reasons.

We will need our best XI on the pitch at 3 O'Clock today, if we are to take anything from the game!
