A confession!

Overlooker
Now for anyone who knows me, their eyebrows would have been raised at my last blog entry.
The one about the Merecedes SLK Kompressor...in silver with cream leather trim.

If you have read my previous blogs you will know how I agonised over spending money on a new camera(quite a while ago now)...how I worried that some bill would come landing on the mat and I would not be able to pay it due to my flagrant extravagance.
Extravagant I'm not - frugal...I am.

So I have to 'fess up and tell you that the last blog was a figment of my imagination....a fiblet.

I haven't driven for 11 years now.....and anyway if I was to start driving again I would be happy with something small, easy to park(though, don't get me wrong...I have no difficulty with parking) and unobtrusive.

So all those out there who were dribbling at my luck...you can now wipe your chin.
I'm not getting it.
He has now said I can have anything within reason.

That means something that costs the same as a quarter of dolly mixtures!

id just like to be able to have my driving licence back!!! I was wondering why you'd want to have a merc ... they cost a fortune to insure and the cost of the petrol .. especially as you've got a bus pass .. lol

Surely Jen, you didn't believe my little fiblet?
No, of course you didn't.
I just wanted to pick a car that would cost a lot...to run, to insure, to maintain.......just to see his face when I said in my plaintive voice 'Well, you said I could have anything I want'.
But he didn't buy it either(my fiblet - not the car)....he knows me too well.
I am going to have to cast of the Frugal Freda personna.

I would have loved to have seen his face! You've inspired me, Margaret, to loosen up a bit on my frugal act too, or at least to stop declaring "no flowers, they only die anyway".
I think I would have gone for the Audi R8 myself (Tee Hee!)

Yes, I can see how you could have a lot of fun in one of those.
It looks a bit low to me....I might get in alright, but would need a hand to get out again...aah the joys of getting older.
