In the beginning ! This being a first don't expect to much
I've read several other peoples entries & it mainly seems to be that this "Blogging" lark is about opening up to folk & letting them share in your personal musings, ramblings & thoughts on a plethora of things.
Hopefully in the process giving people a wry smile, a different take on things or just a glimpse into the psyche of the author ! A dubious prospect at the best of times !
Anyway, you good folk in Accy are having a bit of a shindig of your own this evening I hope you enjoy it. As to our delights we're off to friends for a Barby with Beers, lots of Beers.
Incidentally the word Barby or Bar-B-Que doesn't get used here in "Bratty" Land (that's a German sausage by the way) they call it a Grill/Grilling, probably something to do with our Teutonic cousins lack of understanding in relation to the word Queue which doesn't enter their vocabulary.
We'll be having large lumps of meat, incinerated to a crisp, smeared in various sauces, washed down with copious amounts of Beer(Now that's something the Germans do, do well) Veggies ? Nah ! unless they can be done on the grill, nothing more forlorn than a piece of lettuce with Barby stripes on it
They've promised they won't pile the coals to high so the Witch doesn't get panicked
(Before you start, my Darling Wifey is well aware of her nickname & calls me Fatboy in response, We're good with it .... well after 23 years together I think it speaks volumes!).And we'll be in the car & not on the Broomstick as the Hound is coming with us as a living, leftovers clearer, pretty practical really.
So tomorrow will be the day of repentance as I will no doubt be bravely enduring the pains of overindulgence. My own fault I know, it starts off as a Beer or two then "The Germans" try to get their own back on us Brits by bringing out their potions
& being far to polite to refuse, you know where this is going don't you !
Well that is my first foray, I hope it amused you or passed a little time, thanks for reading.
Kind Regards Dave.
