Saturday we usually head off for a jaunt.
He usually shouts me just about seven.
I actually woke up just about six am.....himself was snoring fit to burst.
I did toy with the idea of getting up....but thought that it wasn't such a great idea......the rain was pelting against the bedroom window.
Himself stirred his stumps at 6.30.......so all was quiet, and I drifted off to a peaceful and pleasant sleep.......not wakening until 8.45.
Then lying there, trying to work out if I was on this earth, or fullers earth......and what day it was, and whether I should have been up and at 'em somewhere.
It was just gone nine when I got downstairs.
Himself was still in his dressing gown.
He went off to do his ablutions and I went and made my slice of toast.
It was a damp and dismal day.
We had thought of going to Manchester, but looking at the weather I was glad we hadn't gone.
I really didn't want to be jousting in the shops.......fighting against the sharp elbows for something I didn't need, didn't want and probably couldn't afford...and anyway the lie in was lovely.
If I was lucky the newer Kindle would arrive in the post this morning...I wasn't holding my breath as it was coming from Scotland and had a lot of hills to traverse.
Once I had breakfasted, I went to do my ablutions.
While I was in the shower I heard the door bell...it was the postie with a parcel...alas, not the one I was waiting for, but a book that should have come for Christmas....for my daughter.......I had to cut a picture of the book out of a magazine and put it in an envelope for her...with a note that said 'This fell out of Santa's sack somewhere over the M1......there are elves out looking for it right now!'
It made her smile...she said she would not have thought to do something like that....yes well! Sometimes life makes you a bit inventive.
Anyway, it didn't really matter if the kindle didn't arrive - there was no hurry.
The rain eased off a bit, himself decided he would go into town to get some broth mix, (I didn't want to go with him)just as he got to the door, the parcel van arrived.......with my Kindle!
Yippee....while he was out I de-registered my old one...registered my newer one and loaded it with books...so I am set up now.
I'm glad we didn't go out. I had a lie in, and fettled my kindle. How good is that?
Oh, and Nicola got her Lorraine Pascale cookery book
