A little light…..

Today has been a brighter day.
Not just the weather, but the news from the hospital too.
The treatment that was started yesterday has been continued today.
The fluid on his lungs has diminished and he is breathing a lot better….while he is still on high flow rate oxygen, his oxygen sats have stayed at a better level.
Today, he was sat in a chair beside the bed for long periods.
Roberto his nurse said when I phoned that there had been some complaining about keep being disturbed, but there was also some banter.

The cherry on the cake was the news that himself had eaten his tea…this is the first food he has had since he ate a banana on Friday morning.

I have been given offers of help with shopping and a couple of my neighbours, who had missed seeing him for the last few days(and were shocked at what had happened) have offered to not only give me a lift to the hospital, but have said they would like to visit him.
I have said that I will see how things pan out, but I may take them up on their offer.
A neighbour across the street works from an office in Lytham and she has said I can go with her….and this will not take her out of her way.
I am more than happy to come home on public transport.
So….maybe this is the corner we are about to turn.

So good to hear news that is on the more positive side. Hoping that this continues in such a way that David is soon home again with you. Margaret, you have been there so many times for other people with kind words and deeds, giving them help and support when they have needed this, that I am not surprised you are getting a lot of offers of help now during this stressful time. That is how it should be.

Thank you Dorothy.
My words and deeds have always been given freely with no thoughts of any kind of payback.
I do not wish to sound like StMargaret(for those out there old enough to remember, this was a Littlewoods brand), but I just like the buzz of helping someone.

It does me good to think that a helping hand may have been just the thing that was needed in another persons life at that moment in time.

We rarely know the impact our kind words or bits of advice might have.
So yes, it is powerful to know that there are so many people who will look after me too….and I truly do appreciate it.
