A lucky week.

I have had such a lucky week so far that I almost daren't close my eyes to sleep in case I wake up and find that my luck has run out....

My new suite came on monday, it's brilliantly comfy and I have to admit to a certain reluctance to get off it. Due to that reason I have been sitting editing my dissertation (a lot). Subsequently I have got loads of it done and will probably be able to send in the final draft a week earlier than expected, I will also be e mailing a draft to my newly appointed proof reader..;) If I get the draft sent in a week early it means that I have at least a weeks rest before I get it back for the final edit, then I just have to print 2 copies, get them bound and ferry them to Preston on the 31st.

I've had a great time with Sparks on my unexpected day off and I even had a nice day at work on Thursday, not too busy, not too quiet.:D

It was my niece's 4th birthday yesterday, I had promised Grego that I would go into town and get her cake for the party today. Grego had seen a princess cake in M&S that she wanted, unfortunately it was the beginning of the week and the expiry date didn't permit her to buy it. I said that I would try and get it for her on Friday. Grego dashed to M&S after work on Thursday to find that they didn't have the cake in stock so I went first thing yesterday morning and found one. They had only just put it on the shelf and I snapped it up.

I then went to the Post Office to pick up Ellie's present which I had ordered online last week. It was delivered on Thursday but I was working, I had feared that it wouldn't come this week and that I wouldn't have a pressie to give her but all's well that ends well.

I went to watch my nephew at his school sports day yesterday too. He was so funny, running in the wrong direction and waving at us all. He soon got the hang of it though and thoroughly enjoyed his day. Later I went with Sparks to watch Rishton playing cricket against Todmorden. Having never been to a cricket match I thought it wise to get some practice in before the Ashes. I had no idea what was going on but reckoned that if I clapped when Sparks clapped I'd look like I knew what was happening. Sparks says that he will lend me a book which explains everything about the game. I can't remember what it is called but there's something about Googlies in the title. I have a feeling that it won't be a bodice ripper...:D

Anyhow, Rishton won and are through to the final of something so that was good news. All in all it has been a good week so far, but the best news of all came yesterday...... My chavvy, troublesome next door neighbours who were constantly littering my garden with broken bottles and fag ends have split up and moved out.....Good riddance to them, at least now I may get some peace..:D

Wow....Lettie maybe you should pinch yourself to make sure you AREN'T asleep....and if you aren't then nip off and buy a lottery ticket for next week.....who knows you may just be flying first class!
