I am so chuffed.... Me and Grego have found a new job for Rindy. It won't pay very much, maybe just the occasional free lunch, but the hours are not long and it won't be at all difficult to do. I can't wait until he reads this blog and finds out about his new job. He doesn't need an application form, interview or fancy presentation. The job is his without question.......
You see, it all started like this..............
Me and Grego went to Manchester today. We were both intent on a bit of retail therapy and the obligatory lunch... We arrived in Manchester and joyously hit the shops. There were loads of lovely clothes around and we both saw lots of things that we liked, but we also discovered a problem.
We have worn the same kind of clothing for years. Neither of us is comfy in a skirt and we're not even sure that we suit them. The last time I wore a dress was when I got married (and that was only because I had to). We both prefer casual trousers, jeans, t-shirty material tops and neutral colours. In fact, we are not even sure which colours we would really suit. There were some beautiful long crinkly skirts, big chunky belts, a lovely dress in Karen Millen and some gorgeous tops but we were unable to decide what we wanted or suited.
We went for lunch feeling a tad pathetic. How can it be that 2 intelligent ladies are so woefully inept at shopping? We realised that we have been stuck in a clothes rut for years and this is where Rindy comes in.........
As we talked, we realised that we needed someone with a good eye for fashion, who would be brutally honest with us if we looked like mutton dressed as lamb. Someone who was experienced in how clothes should be worn. the one person who we both agreed on was Rindy.....
We traipsed round for the rest of the afternoon before coming home on the bus. I bought a birthday pressie for my nephew in NZ and I got a Christmas pressie for my niece, but alas, not a stitch for myself. I would feel a bit smug about buying my first Christmas pressie of the year, but I know that I am likely to get the rest of them at the last minute and panic as per usual.
So Rindy...................... If you ever fancy a free lunch let us know, and you can start your new job as fashion advisor to Lettie and Grego.
