Anyone who is a regular reader of my blog will know that I have been procrastinating and prevaricating over the purchase of a new camera.......you will also know of the tribulations of me breaking my much loved Nikon....and the fact that I received a shiny new model courtesy of the insurance company.
Even though I was provided with a shiny, up to the minute compact camera.......I still wanted something that would allow me to do more. I bemoaned the fact that the more I looked, the more confused I became from the great wealth of choice.
In the end I plumped for a 'bridge' camera....this is a bit more sophisticated than a point and shoot compact camera, but not as sophisticated(or expensive) as a digital SLR(which I had sort of set my heart on).
Last Friday I grasped the nettle and ordered a Panasonic Lumix FZ 18......and a polarising filter.
I also asked for 'Special Delivery'........I wanted to be in posession of this new toy as soon as possible....so of course a Friday was not a good day to order anything was it?
I DID expect it to arrive on Saturday......but blessed is she who expects nothing, she will never know disappointment.
Anyway, Saturday came and went and no camera.
I checked on the Website, 'where are my things'.........with Royal Mail (you daft old bat) was something like the reply...and it also said to expect delivery today.
And it did, just after 8am.......and all I can say at present is WOW!!!!!
It hasn't been the kind of day when I could go out and take some shots......gunmetal grey skies and drizzly rain are not the best to test this bit of equipment (don't want the rain to get in - would have some explaining to do if I tried to claim against insurance for another camera).......I also have not been able to digest the manual yet(I'm Ok with that, I don't think it has many calories in it).
I promise to take some pics soon....and maybe even post some on my blog.
I hope I don't end up looking like an idiot.......I have this delusion that I can take pictures.....even that I am good at it!
I'm sure you lot will let me know if I'm wrong.
