Such a fantastic day and evening.:)

R. and J. were as good as gold, or as good as possible after being told by Granny to behave for me, lol.

Was glowing from a day in the sun when Sparkologist and Lettie came to pick me up.

We got to Manchester in good time so sat out near The Royal Exchange enjoying a drink. The sun transforms everyone and everything.

Trips to Manchester as a child always gave me a dour feeling. Dark, Satanic mills etc. The only good thing to come out of the IRA bombing was the rejuvenation, literally, of this great city.

Sitting in the square, everyone relaxed and happy, everything looking beautiful in the evening sunshine, showed Manchester as nice as any city in the world l've been to, and l've been to lots.

The play 'Sex Chips & Rock 'n' Roll by Debbie Horsfield,[ Making Out/Cutting It,] was fantastic.

I'd seen the play on tv, but this was the original musical. Set in the early 60's [1962? About the time The Stones broke.] it was set in Eccles and dealt with the changing morality of a Mother and her two daughters.

Tracie Bennett [ex early 80's Corrie actress,] as the Mother was fantastic. When she told her daughters in song how she'd lived a lie, and told the girls how their supposedly dead father turned out to have been a one night stand, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. She was like a Lancashire Edith Piaf, gutsy and brimming with pent up emotion and regret, fan bloody tastic.

The choreography was also brill, with a great ensemble. Eagle eyed Rindy also gave 10/10 for the costumes too. Not a winkle picker wrong. Even the Mother, stuck in her Dior's 'new look' from the time she was seduced was a brilliant touch.

As well as a great play, great company too, thanks guys x. Interesting conversation on bullying as well as lots of jokes about Lettie having to mince as she broke in her new hoiday shoes, and no l didn't give her any tips!

Again, should have gone to bed but couldn't sleep. In the chatroom, apparently I've been sent to Coventry by the two people l shared some very interseting times with over the last couple of months. The morals questioned in the play nicely contrasted with the morality of what happened in there.

Lol, l swear to God l'm not making this up. The door just went, it was Jehovah's Witnesses. I thanked then and expained the leaflet she had, l'd read and it wasn't for me. l hope she doesn't start a hate canmpaign against me because she thinks l wasted her their time????

We had a great time. I'm wearing my old sandals today, so I may be able to get through today without mincing...
