A rag bag.

Well at least there has been a little activity over the last couple of days.
In here I mean. I like a good read and was beginning to think that everyone had left and not put the lights out!

Being as it is half term my child-minding activities have been suspended for the week......and that is OK, except that if we go anywhere we are falling over ankle biters and rug-rats. I like children......baked....fried.....spit roasted....boiled...fricaseed, I just can't eat a full one.

Last Friday my daughter had a 40th birthday party to go to. She asked me if I would have her two kidlidids over to my house......I said they would both have to share the same travel cot. I do have a second travel cot but nowhere for it to go.....well, nowhere safe. In the end I agreed to go over to her house and sleep over there. Took myself a camp bed a pillow and a blanket. The bed was fine......but the blanket made me feel like i had fleas. It is a very old blanket......not exactly army issue, but very similar. In the end I scrounged around and found a small fleece pram blanket......I wrapped this round my legs so that they didn't come into contact with the itchy blanket. If I hadn't found that pram blanket I was quite prepared to put my clothes on and sleep like that.

It felt quite strange sleeping in the toddlers room.....he was awake very early and came into the camp bed with me and we had nursery rhymes until it was time to get up.

We picked the camp bed up from my daughters place today......I won't have any qualms about offering the bed to anyone, but I will have to do something with the blanket......throw it out is probably a good bet!

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. We went for a drive to Skipton.
I was really surprised not to see any new lambs. When we were down in Cornwall the week before last there were loads of new lambs. When i see the lambs I feel that spring is just a breath or two away.
Skipton was really quiet....there was a market on...of sorts. Only a few stalls and they didn't seem to be doing much trade.
What is it with the markets...? They all seem to be in decline at the moment.
We bought a pork pie from the pork butchers there. It was just how a pork pie should be......all knobbly and irregular. It was still warm and juicy......alas it was not for us. I could have eaten it there and then.

Because it was such a lovely day yesterday, I put a load of heavy washing in...thinking that I would be able to put it out for a bit of a blow.
It DID get out on the line but only for about 10 minutes......the sky went a horrible pewter colour and it started to hail....so it had to be hurriedly brought back in the house and draped over the clothes horse...my bathroom looks like a mini chinese laundry.......roll on some sunny breezy days!
