A strange day.

Today has been a bit of a strange day for me.
It would have been Ma's 91st birthday....and I really felt at a loose end.
I would normally have gone up to see her with some goodies, flowers and a card.
We would have spent time talking and reminiscing.
Nessa would have sent her illegal goodies From Betty's Tearooms in Harrogate......and Ma would have oohed and ached over her pressies.

Yesterday, I was quite maudlin and a bit moist....but today I have been ok-ish.
Nessa in Brisbane has taken a drive to Byron Bay....she and her daughter bought a large bunch of yellow flowers and they were going to go to the light house point and toss the flowers into the sea....and for each flower they were going to recount a memory of Ma.
They took a bottle of good wine with them so that at the end they could....I was going to say 'toast her health'....but they were going to toast and celebrate her life and the positive impact she had on us.
I told Nessa that although I could not be with them in person, I would be with them in spirit.

I hope these next lines don't sound daft(really....I don't care if they do!)
Happy Birthday Ma...sleep tight....I will hold you in my heart until I can hold you in my arms.

A late edit.
I made this card to send to my deat old MA's friend.
It is a picture that I love....she looks like the Queen Mother.

Thank you Bea.
I was talking to my sister in Oz....she said she has reached for the phone numerous times to ring Ma to tell her something....and then realised she is not here.
With me...it is pomegranates. I buy them because she loved them....they sit on my counter top and go wrinkly.
