Anybody got any idea why the train station is closed today as well other streets in the surrounding area? Just heard it on 2BR.

suicide

Apparently someone has commited suicide at Accy train station this morning.....obviously i heard the news from someone else so dont know anything more, but how sad :(

:( Oh that is terribly tragic. I feel sorry for anyone else who may have been involuntarily involved such as passengers or train driver.

it has just been on 2br that there was a person on the train station bridge TRYING to commit suicide but has recently just COME DOWN and NOT dead. good news.

It used to drive me mad when I lived in London, as people always chose to attempt suicide in the rush hour. I was once stuck in a tunnel, on a packed train, for four and a half hours. We would have happily helped the selfish idiot in his quest, if it meant we got home earlier.

I'm not being mean by the way, accusing people who attempt suicide in public places of being selfish, of course they aren't of sound mind. It's just that it creates a great deal of stress for other people, especially I presume for the driver of a train who runs over the body.

If someone wants to commit suicide they should do it in a way which doesn't involve other people. When they do these dramatic acts I don't believe they really want to die but maybe they don't know what they do want except that they need help of some kind.

Suicide is horrible, its a shame people have to go to these lengths to get the help they need. I think it'd take a hell of alot to get to the point of wanting to kill yourself, and I just wonder how friends and family fail to notice their loved ones get to that point. I guess sometimes it is spontaneous and you dont see the signs though, but I think more suicides could be prevented with a bit of attentiveness.

as an interesting and hopefully lighter side of this thread, did you know that it is against the law to die in the houses of Parliament? The penalty for which is......

I think everyone knows because I think we had a thread somewhere about the article in The Times and someone said it had been in another newspaper I think too :p

There are some complete morons that go on the LET website it is just a joke they should disable comments on all articles.
