See that good old Al has decided he's not up to the task as Shadow Chancellor, not surprising really when he didn't even know the national insurance rate the other day, another Estel Morris, totally out of their depth

It's almost as bad as the French President not knowing which country he is in.

I'd have thought you'd have appreciated a 'man of the people' politican, regardless of party allegiance.

An orphan, brought up in a council flat, and who entered politics after years working as a postman.

Makes rather a change from the plethora of public school educated, Oxbridge graduates, careerist politicans, who inhabit both sides of the chamber in the House of Commons nowadays.

Not worth a lite if he can't add 2 + 2 is G or with Labour ya never know;)

Maybe he thought it better to step back and let someone with more experience take over, rather than saying nowt and pocketing a good wage.
The honerable but not the tory way a fear.

the reason for resigning is stated family reasons..ed balls will be a credible replacement..

Though as well as pickles, it looks like he ate all the pies too.

No need to wait. It's just been on the BBC news, Johnson's police protection office was having an affair with his wife. Allegedly.
BBC News - Alan Johnson protection officer faces investigation

How boring.

Retiring to 'spend more time with family' is usually a euphemism for something much more exciting. Forcing a resignation, before the story goes public.

It can be something to do with the unnatural use of an orange, and a stocking.

Well it did when politics was more glamorously sleazy. Instead of just sleazy.

Or, back in the day, Gerald Ford welcoming Anwar Sadat as the "President of the great state of Israel."

Still think mistaking mushy peas for Gucamole in a north of England chip shop is one the best , easy mistake to make for one of the working class Labour party's cabinet members to make  :D :D

And while we are on the food thing: was it not JFK, who, before a crowd of confused West Germans proudly claimed that he was a cream filled donut:rolleyes::D
