when i was at mary magdalens junior school," a few years back."
we had a school allotment, did every junior school have one, cant remember.

i went to work at my old school and they had a massive green house and also kept bee's...... probably not the best idea in the world with all those kids about!

Gt. Harwood Top Council did in the days before it joined up with Rishton to create the Norden High School , it was tended to by the kids who didn't qualify for the regular A, B and C streams , this class was designated the X stream ( don't think self-esteem was such a big thing in those days )

We had one at St. Marys Ossy, it was in the church grounds on Catlow Hall Street, used to shlep up the "gardens" every thursday afternoon last period,

St. Pauls at Oswaldtwistle had a garden at the far end of the yard but it was mainly lawned area as we sat out their for some lessons when it was nice.
However, I do remember the boys doing some gardening somewhere, but details are missing as it was not the sort of things girls were allowed to do.
