Am I stupid???

I have had 5 days off sick with my neck pain and have taken my fair share of Voltarol. I have to say that the Diazepam were fantastic, they didn’t take the pain away but they did put me to sleep. In fact, they put me to sleep every time I so much as sat down, this went on for the best part of 2 days and I only took one tablet……Yikes!!!!!!!

Maybe I am just not used to taking tablets but I have felt quite sickly at times, the Voltarol doesn’t take the pain away completely but it is bearable, so yesterday I went back to work. I must be totally stupid, by the end of yesterday’s busy shift I was in pain, despite the pills. It is my day off today and I’m still suffering. I have changed my pillows to those memory foam ones but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I now wish that I had stayed off, gone to my GP and got a sick note for a week or 2 but I felt fine at home. I suppose there is a big difference between sitting on your bum at home and running around like an idiot on a busy, understaffed NHS ward but I never gave it a thought at the time. You see, I was bored at home and although Sparks is now back in Blighty he is working. I was starting to feel quite lonely during the day and wanted some company, so went back to a job where there is no such thing as light duties.
Perhaps I am just stupid??

In a word Lettie....Yes.
But I understnd where you are coming from....when you sit at home and you feel sort of OK, you remember just how much work your colleagues have to do to take up the slack of one person not being on board, then the guilt kicks in....and off you go to work.....then you pay for it because in truth......these kind of things need more than a couple of days to heal.
You need to go see your Doc......get a sicknote (remember, it is easier to cover certificated sickness than odd days)and only go back when you are truly pain free.

Hmm and how many times was I told after my car accident and was bored to take it easy and rest...

I also went back too early, but was fortunate to be put on reduced hours and desk work only...

not possible for you I know, so please lettie allow yourself the rest and most importantly enough recuperation!!!
