It may well be - my card provider didn't/wouldn't say which ancestry site had tried it on.I thought ancestry.co.uk was a legit site![]()
how did they get yout card details? It may well be - my card provider didn't/wouldn't say which ancestry site had tried it on.

did ya not subscribe to them?
Thats the only trouble buying things on line by credit card, the same thing applies to Time Life and their record collections, they keep asking for your credit card and they send you an extra CD if you phone a number. DON'T, once they've got your card they keep sending you CDs on approval, and trying to get rid is like trying to get chewing gum from the bottom of your shoeI've had mixed issues with Ancestry, I did the free trial and after 12 months received amn e mail saying it was due for renewal and my credit card would be debitted, I did send an e mail to say I didn't wish for it to be renewed. Unfortunately I changed my ISP and got a new PC and couldn't prove I'd sentthe e mail.
I wrote to my credait card provider to request a refund but they were less than helpul and i didn't get anywhere
the next renewal came through this year which initillay came out of my credit card however I did contact the company direct and they arrangd a refund
