Another Chapter.

Beacon of light
Overlooker
Sunday dawned bright and clear. I was looking through my clothes for something to wear when I realised you can't wear just anything to go riding on a motor bike.

I chose a pair of black pants and a sunny yellow 'sloppy Joe' jumper that I had made for myself.......wasn't sure if I looked like a bumble bee, but at least I would be warm.
I couldn't eat any breakfast, I had a major case of butterflies. I told my Mum that I was going out for the afternoon and that I didn't want any tea saving.

D*** was going to pick me up at 11:30......I was ready well ahead of that time.
I heard his bike roar up and called out to tell Mum that I was going out.
I had never been on a motorbike before.......I told D*** this and he said it was Ok all I had to do was 'lean into the corners' I wasn't sure what this meant, but didn't want to show my ignorance by asking. D*** was in his black leather jacket and he had a metallic red helmet......he had one for me too.
He helped me to put it on and adjusted the straps...... he kept looking into my eyes.... or I should say eye...... the left one was still tightly closed and swollen. He was a bit worried about whether the goggles would make the eye worse......he said not to put them on, but to shield my eyes from the wind by snuggling in close to his back.
He started the bike up and I climbed on behind him....... I held him tightly around the waist and we were off.

I was a bit scared, but exhilarated at the same time. We went down into the Ribble Valley and stopped for a while at Edisford Bridge. I told him that it was a place I loved. My father had taken us down there during the summers when I was at school. We would have picnics and fish in the river for sticklebacks. I told D*** how my father would line us all up and we would have contests of who could skim stones the furthest.....oh and what a washout at it I was.
We rode to Whalley and had a coffee and continued to talk about everything under the sun........I had a really good afternoon out and when it was time to go home I said what a good time I had had and that it was a shame it was over. Dave said 'well, why don't we go out tonight then......I'll take you home and you can tell your Mum' I wanted to, but felt that as we had spent the day together it might be too much.

I said this to D***, he said well I have to go all next week without seeing you at all. So we went to the pictures again.
This time we snuggled close and he kissed my cheek. (Now looking back I realise how chaste our relationship was.)

He said he had taken me on the bike so I would hug him..... he said he liked to be hugged. When he walked me home he stopped at the bottom of the hill where I lived and gave me a big kiss......a real honest to God proper kiss........I had never, ever been kissed like that. He asked me if I had Wednesday afternoon off.......I told him that Wednesday was my half day.
He said he would like to take me out on the bike again, but that it would only be a short trip as he had to go to work at 6pm.......it was a date! .........to be continued

l'm hooked.
l hope D*** turns out to be Hubby. l can feel a need to get my hankies ready though.
